OK Hows this for freakily just can't be coincident proof
Within the Giza pyramids there is a giant staircase. On the steps in timeline form the Egyptians predicted both World Wars, the Gulf War and it is even being suggested within the engraving was a prediction for Sept. 11 not to mention countless other historical events. But on the step for the year 2013 there is a telling of destruction that will end the world(or something very similar to that)
Mayan Calenders Dooms Day: December 22, 2012
    Egyptian Dooms Day=2013
See much of a time difference???

    Excerpted from www.dictionary.com
    con·jec·ture (kn-jkchr)
    n.
Inference or judgment based on inconclusive or incomplete evidence; guesswork.
A statement, opinion, or conclusion based on guesswork: The commentators made various conjectures about the outcome of the next election.

That's really just two points of conjecture. It proves nothing.

This arguement is somewhat pointless for neither can prove it can or cant happen... in the case of Nostrodamus;[berry-please, get your profits right, or at least your ren peeps.]

predicted a world war (Maybe both... im relying on my memory here)
    Predicted JFK's death

Predicted the world would end... i think it was 6 July 1999 ... later on after it DIDNT happen turns out his calendar was wrong & by the newly plotted prediction it shoulda happened in 1994, whoops again

& someone said about the egyptians.

Most fortune teller folk tend to get the majority of there stuff correct except in the end of the world bit... oh well, so dont worry much oh ye beleivers in predicting folk who were high or generally deranged :D

    predicting the future if it's small stuff is kinda easy, example;

    Tommorrow... a man... will fall!

What? Are there heoroglypics on them or something? And do you have a source, or are you pulling it from your ***?

And besides... so what? If you guess every single day that something will happen, you will eventually be right.

    disclaimer: i don't own anything

sailor moon and the sailor scouts will come together and become the mega scouts and then inuyasha will come a try and defeat them unfortunatly freeza stands in his way and blows a hole into the middle of planet.
then Captin Underpants comes and says " stop, you there evil vilins".
everyones truns and looks at him.
then Motoko comes and dose her split rock maneuver and cuts Catain under pants in haLF.
" Stop right there in the name of a loaf of bread" mega scout will say.
but before anything else can happen the world blows up from freeza shooting a whole inside.
    BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM
    this all happens on 14/99/+tax

AND THATS HOW THE WORLD WILL END.
every ones just finding out how the world will end
because this is the stupidest thing i've ever writen And post on M2A thats why.

    back to the topic

im pretty skeptical about the whole world ending thing. i
t seems like every time some one makes a prediction it comes out wrong.
if were lucky the world will never end and humans will stop testing on animals
because hopfully there will be a cure for every thing.

    ;)  :shy3:  :D

Quite alright, I myself never said if I supported it or not. I look at with an ambivalent eye, neither supporting it nor disproving it.

I think it's pretty cool... however pretty unlikely at the same time. ^_^

Maybe it's just the way we've been brought up though- in rigid mental denial of the fact that the world really could end.

It's amazing that many things the calander predicted did come true, though.

And think about it- 2012 is still nearly a decade away. ALOT can happen in a decade. Compare 1980 to 1990, or even 1990 to 2000. I think it's very possible that the world could end, however, human kind would, as usual, find a way to bend prophecy, science, and whatever else it can.

How could the Mayans have known anything about our world as it is now? If they could predict the end of the world, they could predict many other things. If they realized that the planet was dying (Whoa.. starting to sound like FF here...), then we would already have seen signs of that, and taken action.

Unless the government is hiding it from us... *shifty eyes*

The world is not going to end- atleast that's what they want you to think!!
I have now firmly convinced myself that the world is going to end in 2012. :D

    Okay, consider the following:

This is an excerpt from a very well researched and written essay, originally published in the Dec-Jan '95 issue of Mountain Astrologer, of which you can find the full account here. The author details how the Mayan calendar leads up to this final conjuction of major astronomical bodies. As the final line in my quote says, whatever such an event could do to impact weather on our planet is beyond the scope of his essay. He merely proves, based on fact, that such an event is bound to occur at the end of the Mayan calendar.

In simpler terms, for less wordy readers of this debate:

Astrological, monumental and mythological evidence to shows the importance of this event for the Maya - so their calendar runs out on this day for a reason. But there is no evidence in one way or another to show that it is necessarily the "end of the world".

Interesting comment, but I'd like to know exactly where you received such information. I have seen no sources that factually prove exactly what the Mayans expected on this day. What you're spouting, sounds more like hearsay than anything else.

Yes, this makes perfect sense. I'll ellaborate. The center of the galaxy, for those of you who'd like to know, is located in the constallation Sagittarius, which is a summer constallation. This means that in winter, Sagittarius faces the Earth and would then be visible during the day, when the Sun is in the same direction. And yes, the Ecliptic (Solar "orbit", as it were) and the rest of the sky changes with respect to each other as time goes by, bringing the Ecliptic and the galactic center closer to alignment. So yes, this statement makes sense.

Sorry, I just had to get this in there somehow. Just because it's really cool.

The Mayans, Nostradomus, the three kids of Fatima and all the guys on the street corners are predicting the end of the world. Eventually, someone will get it right.

Aside from the dates, I interpret the end of the world to mean the end of my world (when I die).

I find the whole idea that the world will end simply because some stoned priests from a very secluded part of the world thought so.

Besides this kind of things has happened before. A little before 1000 A.D. all the Christians thought the world was going to end exactly 1000 years after Christ was born. Guess what happened......NOTHING. So then everybody re-read their bibles and thought they had made a mistake. Maybe he was born a year after we all thought he was. Or maybe it's 1000 years after he died? The point is that nothing happened and the world went on living as it always had been.

So I think the whole idea is cr*p.

    nope cant be

i am having a hard time believing that. I myself have strong mayan blood lines and i have never hard of such a prophecy from that civilization. even though it is said its appearance was about 5000 years i just cant see it. I mean if this prophecy was made recently then maybe yeah okay i'll buy it, but if this prophecy was made thousands of years ago then im going to have a hard time believing that. Im not saying that i believe it, I dont it just the fact that they could have thought ahead that much. well thats my rant :sweat2:

you find the whole idea what..

the whole idea of saying "i find" before a sentance is so that you can express a view on the subject..

and gita. you're saying that because the prophecy is 5000 years old you are less inclined to believe it than say, a prophecy made in 1987?

well who'se fault is that now?

    sorry

i was just saying that i follow my lines very closely and i have never read anything about this prophecy. Also i did not mean like 1987, i mean recently like 200 years ago, it would have been easier to track and to make sure that that is what it is

The Fatima prophecies say nothing about the end of the world. The supposed "third secret" speaking of the end of the world and yadda yadda is a hoax.

Of course, if someone said the vatican hid the REAL third secret yadda yadda we're going with the conspiracy theory series of crap.

And those were my 2 cents :)
