I'm not sure if they can charge people for anime mp3's though since some of them are not licensed in North America. But, the RIAA and CARP did force me to take down my anime radio station(well, not force but they wanted me to pay royalties)... But, do they really have the right and jurisdiction to do that if the mp3's being streamed were not American licensed?

No, they only have the legal right to sue over property owned by them. You can't sue someone for kicking your neighbor's dog ;)

You could always try a revolution.
Although they don't really work much these days.

Oh jeez i forgot that YOU hated that, but whatever it doesnt change anything about what i posted.I think a revolution would just get put down in a week here anyway, unless a good number of soldiers are in another country.

im pretty sure if you gathered enough people, in a number of key locations a revolution could be very possible, and just might work. i wouldnt be suprised if the government said the "go" on opening fire and shooting down everybody they see as the enemy. but like i said, enough people at the right places. oh yeah, a good strategic plan would also help. without that, couldnt it be considered a big riot?

You relize that you can pick up a cd for under a dollar (american). No bull, its called Hopelessly Devoted To You and it a compilation from Hopeless Records. Another thing to consider is, it only costs somewhere in the vicinity of 50 cents to make a cd. I think i'll become an Anarchist, i hate American government.

well, hamish, youve given me a great idea, and when i get a good(or better) idea, i think it out, and plan all the things that need to be done, and go through as many possibilities and ways it could happen, and all the outcomes that may become of it

    So don't get the virus.

Anarchy is the win. I wish the world could be like Lord of the Flies. Or like Baghdad right after the war. Looting is good, law and order is bad. And America is a horrible place to live: too many famines, way high jobless rate, massive epidemics, the secret police.. err.. You'd be better off moving to Cambodia or Argentina or Denmark (whee!!)

Draw your own conclusions about the sarcasm level, half the time I'm not entirely sure myself.

And yes, Denmark is nice. Compared to the US though it is somewhat more socialist, which is of course the opposite of anarchy, so I don't think you'd want to go there either. Sad fact: the US has the lowest taxes of any industrial nation (or should we be saying informational nation now?)

    tangential rant:
The popular conception of the political spectrum is all screwed up. We tend to put nazism on the far right, communism and anarchy on the left.

In the end though, communism and nazism (national socialism) are basically the same: more and bigger government with greater control, and at the opposite end is anarchy.

Now here's something to chew on. Think about the tems 'liberal' and 'conservative' for a moment. Conservative (as Republicans are often named) means liking things the way they are or were. Liberals (the tag given to Democrats) go for change, bigger government (the new deal, welfare etc).

The government of the USA was originally a lot more anarchic than today. No income tax, more power with the state governments etc etc. And which is the party that wishes to keep things that way, to "conserve" government as it was? Oh ****! The Republicans are closer to being anarchists than the Democrats! Run for the hills.. the world is upside down.

In the end, things like the Department of Homeland security are about change, and tighter control. The Republicans aren't pure either. So in my round about way I suppose I am agreeing that the US government bites. I am all for moving closer towards anarchy, but anarchy itself is pretty dumb.

Not to beat a dead horse, but...

    ...the story continues.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3187695.stm

The RIAA has now revealed techniques of their tracing to hashes and metadata tags. They say by tracking this information, it provides clues to identify if a file was created from a legitimate source or downloaded.

Several hundred lawsuits are on their way, after a filing of more than 1,300 subpoenas to force internet service providers to reveal the identities of their users.

It means it may be already too late for you. After all, they've been gathering data for a while now, and the report is that they're filing suits soon. o_O
