    Eh, I believe you're both right. "Nan da yo" is just like...not the super polite way of saying it. Notice that both ways are said by the rougher individuals, while "nan da" or just plain "nani" is used by ones who speak more formal. That's what I've gathered, anyway. "What" or "What's that" or....well, it depends on when it's being said.

    In that case, I'd probably use "soshite". You can use "to", but "soshite" would probably sound better because it sounds softer, and lengthens it a bit more.

    omoroii: funny

    This is a term I never use, since sounds kind of funny to me. It's the shortened version of omoshiroii.

    How would you use that word to say something like "That's funny" ?

    (I am still in the dark when it comes to grammar...)

    Do you mean 'That's strange'?
    then you would use 'Okashii ne'
    or... 'Chotto hen desu ne'

    for 'That's funny' you'd just say 'Omoshiroi' or 'Omoroi' or 'Sore wa Omoshiroi desu!' there are lots of ways you can say these things.

    Well, some of you may have wondered what Tamagochi meant, when there was a big craze all them years ago. Well, here's my interpretation. Tamago=egg and Tamodachi=friend. So, it's kind of like, egg friend. Yup.
    I could be wrong, but might not be. Here's hoping.

    Most likely you are correct, DL. Your interpretation makes complete sense.

    I had one of those, but they were so annoying, cuz they kept beeping in the most unwanted times...

    'ichiban' means first, right? so, does 'niban' (or however it's spelt) mean second?

    'Ichiban' means 'number one'
    'Niban' = 'number two'
    yah, '-ban' attached to a number means 'number (number)'

    and, on a nitpick note... Tomodachi means friend. Tamodachi... I don't know that it means anything actually. Side note to that, in a lot of things, Tomodachi is just shortened to 'Tomo' (just the first Kanji of the combo).

    'bokura wa mada shizuka ni tobira o tataiteru'= we are still quitely tapping on the door.
    I think that's right, I'm not positive though.

    Omae= you
    Not the most polite way to say you though...
