Well I don't get why Kenshin is so popular.I'm guessing your a fan by your avatar.I tried to watch it a couple times, but it was so boring and cliche-filled that I couldn't bear it.Sorry Kenshin fans. How anyone could doubt the greatness of Cowboy Bebop is beyond me.I'll tell you why they're so popular. It's because they have a great mix of action, music and characters with depth. They bring something new and exciting to the table, which is more than I can say for Kenshin. How many other animes can you say are like Cowboy Bebop?Or any cartoon for that matter? You could try to say Outlaw Star or Noir, but are they really similar? The only thing you could compare would be guns and the use of a space ship. That's pretty vague, huh? The truth is that there is no anime like Trigun or Cowboy Bebop. And the key to their popularity is the fact that they're unique.Just try and compare it to something.I could go on if you still don't get why they're popular.

Anyways I'll let you guys guess which one I picked as the best. It's fairly simple.;)

I like Cowboy Bebop better, because the storyline is better, the characters LOOK better, the soundtrack is great, it's more enjoyable for me, and the characters are more original than the ones in Trigun. I think Trigun's okay, but sometimes it's just too dippy for me.

While Bebop tended to keep a consistent level of quality, the Trigun storyline seems a bit off-base from time to time.

Trigun would grab my attention with a very vividly and memorable episode, only to follow it with a boring plot filler before kicking things back up again...It just seemed a bit strecthed over to be a full 26-episode season. At 13, it would have been great.

I suppose Bebop had the advantage of taking diverse routes in storytelling. Many of the characters had interesting and diverse histories, and CB explored them. Trigun focused on Vash, and even some of the more interesting characters never get anything revealed about them, leaving them very flat and uninteresting.

I wanted to know more about the Gung-Ho guns, but they got very little exposure outside of "we're killers".

That, and it seemed Meryl's affections for Vash are too fabricated.

While I could argue BlueCrow's rant on Kenshin, I'll stick to the topic and just say that on a whole, Kenshin does have a "great mix of action, music and characters with depth".

I can see why fans like both series, but they never really impacted me on such a level. *shrug* To each his own.

 i picked this avatar because i didnt feel like searching through crap loads of avys to find one i like. to tell the truth i dont like kenshin either. i like hte OVA's but the series is just stupid. oh and the reason you dont find any animes like cowboy bebop or trigun is because they are more like american cartoons then animes. Both dont have story lines till the end (like most american cartoons) the cowboy bebop characters have no power what so ever ( im not talkin DBZ power, im talkin any power even if it was just sumtin small it would do. It is supposed to be an action adventure, yet the characters have no power to me that is just stupid, and also another example of how it is like an american cartoon) trigun i simply dont like the characters in it thats my main reason for not liking it (with the exception of knives he is pretty cool)

Anyway i hate to stray this topic from its subject, but i felt a reply was necassary. is there a debate topic any where on these forums ? i have not seen one so far, but i havent been looking.

I would have to say Cowboy Bebop. I dunno, I just like it better than Trigun. I watched Trigun a couple of times and Vash is really cool and so is that priest guy carrying around that cross full of guns (that's so cool!!) but I just like Cowboy Bebop better. Cowboy Bebop is funny and sad and it just keeps me so interested and everything doesn't always turn out right in Cowboy Bebop which makes it great.

    ummm... no...

But, concerning Cowboy Bebop, I agree with Reign... Cowboy Bebop can be funny, sad, mysterious, and it every episode has its own storyline, while still fitting into the larger storyline of the show, so, There are really 2 different sotrylines going on at the same time. Every episode does not start where the last one ended... that is just a few things that make cowboy bebop better... besides... they're boutny hunters... and like reign said... everything does not end how Spike, Faye, and Jet would like it to.

But that's why the characters are so great. You can relate to them because they're human, just like us.They don't have over-the-top powers. They are vulnerable. And you don't count awesome shooting and fighting skills as powers?I'd like to see Goku take out an entire syndicate with just 2 guns! And what you're referring to as "not having storylines till the end" is called elevation. The story starts off small and fairly innocent and gets intense towards the end.It keeps the viewer hooked.Would you prefer an anime like DBZ that has the same exact storyline throughout every single one of it's seasons? It's like,"Wow!How exciting!Who knew another all powerful super powered bad guy was going to show up?!"And how dare you say Cowboy Bebop is like American cartoons! So I can expect to turn on Nickelodeon and see Jet Black singing along with Tommy Pickles!?I'm afraid you're watching anime for the wrong reasons, sweetheart.;)

i think trigun, becuase it has that certain part of originality to it, and its just so brilliantly made, the guns and when they shoot, but the only thing that ruins it, in my oppinion is that its not a serious anime, if it was, it would be just cool, but as its a bit humourous, it does make it not so good :(

Wow, this is starting to get intense. :sweat2:
Well, while we're on this subject- Blue Crow does have a point. This show is unlike any other out there. It must have took a lot of creativity to make characters with so much depth and that are so humanlike that you could practically reach out and touch them with your fingertips. And like in the real world, these characters, these people have problems. Some problems that can be overcomed and some that cannot (persay, Faye with her HUGE debt problem).
And while we're on the topic of DBZ, no one can smile forever like Goku can. He's always so happy and acts like nothings wrong-
"Oh no, Majin Buu destroyed another city. Oh well, I still got my ice cream." While on the other hand, Cowboy Bebop is more concerned with emotions and the limits of the human body, physically and mentally.
With great music, a beautiful storyline, wonderful animation, and characters that won't soon be forgotten, CowBoy BeBop is one of the greatest anime's to ever be drawn on paper! You can check any website, any magazine and I'm sure that no one has anything bad to say. (That's my 2 cents though)

you get offended to easily. Every ep has its own lil story line. Now lets think of american cartoons. Oh thats right there all the exact same having a different story in each ep would ya imagine that  i am not trying to be mean i am stating my oppinion. you are just taking it the wrong way. since i didnt get to state my answer in my last post i would like to say trigun by far at least he has some power, and when in the hell did i say they had to have crap loads of powers  i said any kinda power would be fine even if it was something small or weak, but a guy going and fighting crap loads of people with a hand gun and sum martial arts is completely unrelistic. its like batman fighting all kinds of powerful enemies and beating them. it is rediculous and completely unentertaining. This is not exactly a good way to start off on a new forum i know that  i have already said i am not trying to be mean everyone is entitled to there own oppinion i have stated mine, and it isnt going to change so your efforts are useless :p

    ***Spoilers***

Some answer. All you did was restate all the other **** you said in your past 2 posts. You did nothing to counter my post. And how the hell do you justify a guy fighting lots of people with a gun and beating them unrealistic.Oh,yeah!A guy making a giant light beam with his ****in' hands and shooting it at a flying alien is way
more realistic. Gimme a break! And you compared Spike's gunfight to Batman fighting a bunch of guys and winning.First of all,Batman is hardly comparable to Spike. And If you didn't notice,Spike died at the end of his fight.Just like a human would. His friends didn't gather some ****in' balls with stars in 'em and wish him back to life. You know why?Because it's UNREALISTIC !It was his love for Julia and his determination to beat Vicious that drove him to beat all those guys, but he still died. You're saying that's not realistic?I'm not trying to start anything either, but you are just spraying alot of bullshit that doesn't even make sense. It's alright that you don't like CB,I was just trying to show you why it's so popular. That is what you said you didn't understand, after all.:)

**sigh** no one is trying to change your mind. I'm sorry if my last post seemed that way but I was just expressing my opinion as well as you expressed yours. If you don't like Bebop that's fine, if you like Trigun better that's fine too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and no one is trying to change your mind.

 you like comparing things to DBZ a lot dont you, anyway i can understand how it would appeal to some people, but it just isnt the kind of anime i like. Anyway the unrelistic part i was talking about is having a normal person go in and take out a crap load of people all shooting at him ... i dont know about you, but i dont know any person that can do that. The only reason i compared it to batman is because both have no powers what so ever and are just skilled martial artists except spike has a gun. like i have said before your taking things to offensively, but you have helped me understand why people like it thank you :D
