Trigun I have to say became one of my top 5 favourite animes after watching it. It had comedy, decent characters and a reasonable storyline. It was quite special to me because it was my first non-mecha anime as well.

I've only recently started Cowboy Bebop and I have reached episode 20, by what I have seen, it is great, but not great enough to reach my top 5. Soundtrack, story and all did not disappoint me. However it was an anime which I hesitated over for 1 year. A year ago, I had no intention of watching this anime despite many reports of its excellence by friends and magasines alike.

It was Trigun that inspired me in watching CB.

After some thought I would have to say Trigun holds off CB, but really, both are masterpieces.

urm.. make up your mind. "it's great cause they are just like us with us!" vs "you don't call taking out a syndicate with two guns a power?" But yeah, he's just like me, cause I can do that too. And fall out of cathedral windows with sword wounds and live. I can really identify with Spike heh. Or Faye, I see people like her everyday, and get to talk to them too. Don't get me wrong, i do agree with you. I like the way they are at least more like us than the spiky haired freaks in drag on balls, I just think it's kinda funny how you put it :D

Vash: Trigun fans, I am sorry. He IS Kenshin. The tragic hero who won't kill, and is perfectly good in every way with basically no (current) faults. Two perfect candidates for hero worship.

Kenshin: call out the name of the attack, or have one of your buddies do it. "I never thought I'd live to see this attack. I REALLY never thought I'd be able to spit all this crap out before he actually finishes performing it" Kenshin himself: see Vash.

CB: Guns, chicks with big hooters. Hero who can't be beat in martial arts (Ed's father a bit of an exception there, I guess I can watch the series after all). I don't see many new ingredients in the series but at least they are mixed together in a somewhat new way. In the end, it's pretty hard for a series to be totally unique. I think CB comes closest.

You know what I meant,MO.They're like us because they have feelings and problems, but they aren't because they have great abilities.Glad you agree with me,though.:)

Dragging this back to the original topic(haven't seen all that much of kenshin, so can't make true comparasins, like what I've seen thopugh), I probably preffer Trigun, by a nose. The first time I watched them, I prefered Cowboy Bebop more, it is extremely cool, highly entertaining, and quite clever. Trigun did seem a little slow, which it is compared to CB(singly contained episodes vs. a slow building story that stretches for 26 eps). The second time however, CB was less new and exciting, but I think I enjoyed Trigun even more. The phillosophy behind it is better, and the humanity, and the characterisation. Therefore, Trigun for me.

Hmmm... I saw Trigun before Bebop, but overall I liked Bebop better, as far as the whole mood of the series goes. However, Trigun is a close second if only for the oddball jokes and some of the facial expressions when Vash talks (especially the one with Vash at the bar with a tie on his head going "HEY GRANDMA, FILL 'ER UUUUP!" He had the BEST expression ever. :D ).

I liked Bebop enough to see the whole series and the movie besides without debating whether I wanted to go on, and I guess that's what made the difference. Several times in Trigun when it wasn't really moving along, I almost considered not finishing it out to the end. I like the way that Bebop just flows and makes you want to keep watching, even during some episodes that could be considered filler.

    Yes, that one exactly!

:D to Blue Crow for finding that elusive picture... I think I love you in a totally fangirl way for finding my favorite picture of Vash.

Though this one's a close second...

Bingo. That's exactly the point I was trying to get across. Trigun took some prodding to keep moving along, while Bebop actually flowed quite easily along. Trigun fillers were a downright chore, while CB fillers were downright entertaining.

Bebop filler doesn't feel like filler. I think that was the whole difference. Outlaw Star follows pretty much the same design, but even OLS had some downright dull filler episodes.

I loved Trigun too, but Trigun filler is... Trigun filler, something there in between actual things happening that's mostly there for the purpose of making one think. A little of it was good, but after a while, I just wanted to say "eh" and skip to the action.

I like Trigun somewhat, but Cowboy Bebop is still in another league of coolness, you can't even compare. Trigun is aimed at too young an audience; very dumbed down show.

Cowboy Bebop is better because it's more serious than Trigun.

Cowboy Bebop is better, it's a series that totally blows you away. Trigun is also good, but to bebop it can't compare...

Trigun was an absolutely Top class anime. But it still can't compare to Cowboy Bebop! That rocked big time, watched the eps over and over again ;)

Now you're all making me want to go watch Trigun all over again to see if my feelings change. :p I keep thinking over all the little moments in between some of the slower parts that made it so fun to watch... and then I go back to thinking about how much I liked Bebop. It was just so... spiffy.

this is pretty hard to say. both are pretty good animes. i like the fact that cowboy bebop got all that music and all, but i also like trigun for the same thing, minus the music. and i like trigun a bit more cuz its pretty fuinny since vash is never serious
