Neon Genesis Evangelion What did you guys think of this show?

Actually, Redbook: some women's magazine or something. Maybe I just called it the red book for the sake of brevity? Or not hehe

also the director of the ep 25 part of End of Evangelion i just found out. Yes, cheers to him.

He directed 'Air'? That's really cool. Masayuki did Death, right? Now I hear Tsurumaki Kazuya's looking at doing a Gunbuster 2.

 

i love it, but thats obvious.. im sure. i enjoy things that make me stop and think. but im also a bit ofa fighting/gore fan.. and thats there too. its like comfort food sometimes.. i watch it when im sick or dont feel well.. hehe. strange i guess.

Evangelion has to be the best anime eva(joke).
It has to be the BEST ever drawn cartoon, muck better then the likes of "bubble gum crisis" ect.
The characters you can really relate to, and its good to see the hero (shingi), for once is not a Arnold Schwartsneggar(sorry bout spelling) with muscles the size of watermelons, and the brain the size of a pea, and the only way to resolve a problem is with lead and blood. And the other two girls. Asuka and rei. HOT HOT HOT! and lets not forget to mention Misato:sweat2:! You can really grow attatched to the characters.
And the Storyline, a bit confusing, a bit scary and a bit funny, just the way i like it!
And like that other guy said, u gotta watch it more than once to get/like it!
But with every thing good, there is a bad... exept with this cartoon! I cannot possible find ANYTHING wrong with this cartoon, it is absolute perfection. The only thing coming close to being better than this cartoon is Metal Gear Solid, but thats another story. :anime:
If any one can find a flaw with this cartoon, they are absolutely SAD just to try and question the SUPIRIORITY of this cartoon!

 

Well thats good that its one of your favs. I prefer somthing like ranma or Love Hina, its funny, has a love story to it and it has an awesome plot!

 

I can understand why u like Ranma, it is also one of my favourite cartoons (very funny), but the story line is pretty dodgey, and the drawings are now the best. Plus it is too long, like, you cant get the whole series on dvd, and if u do, it'll cost u a fortune. But Evangelion, you can get it in a special boxed set (i have it) and it doesnt drag on for too long. When it finishes, it finishes. It dosent try to make some more money by adding more characters, and dragging the series longer and longer untill noone likes it, even the loyl fans start to think it is too long:anger:.
And another thing. The caracters are to cartoony. It is a little too childish. I like my cartoon drawrings to be more "real-life" like.
But different people have different tastes i guess.

p.s What on earth is "love Hina"?

 

LOL! Love Hina is the anime where I got my nick! Its about this guy that goes into a University that he made a promise to meet this girl from his childhood at. He tries to get into but keeps failing...He is forced to live on his own(somthing like that^_^ and he moves into this all-girls dormitory(u know where that leads); later he thinks Naru is the girl he made that promise too...Its hilarious they all beat him up...andyways ranma wasnt bad Its EVA that drags on it feels even longer than Ranma, it keeps me interested in it...but it ok that u like EVA

 

and another thing

i like evangelion cause i prefer horror to love anytime, and evangelion is not quite horror, but its freaky all the same.

 

just got the box set the other day and watched it all in two days, didn't really want to stop but had to, anyways the point is that i thought it was great because i was just dying to find out what was going to happen next. i thought the characters were all quite interesting, and i didn't dislike any of them, which is unusual as i normally find a person i don't like at all who annoys the hell outta me. the action was really good, and the fact that the angels were all different and most took different ways to destroy meant it never really got stagnant with the same action sequences. also in respect to the depth and ideas within the series, which i didn't really notice until i started reading about the on the internet, shows just how much thought was put into the series and in my opinion makes the show more than just another anime series. Finally what makes me think that this was such a great series is that after days i'm still thinking about it and any such anime that does that is going to be superb. thinking of watching it again soon!

 

Well, it took me a while, but I finally finished the series, yay! I stopped like half way in, when I started loaning them out to my friend in exchange for what he had, and the box-set was just sorta sitting there. One night, I was just laying on the floor and saw it and decided to finish watching the other half. By far, Evangelion is the best (in my opinion at least) anime I've seen so far. I absolutely loved every single minute of it. ^^ And hopefully next week, I'm gonna try and bum the movies off my friend, Bus.

I just really like how towards the end, just like pretty much everyone starts just breaking down. ^^

 

im half way throguh series [ fairly new to anime] and im fairly addicted seems cool allthough whoever designed the "angels" should be shot

 

I thought it was brilliant. A nice hard mind ****. I too watched it all in 2 days. Really ****ed up my dreams too. Didn't really get all of it, particularily EoE, that was just plain wierd. So in short, yes I did like the show. A lot.

 

In my biased opinion, the best anime ever.

in my opinion, definately one of the best out there. especially with all the religious stuff. though some scenes were abit too long and boring, and EoE did cause me to go insane. and i've never been happier! rock on, Eva, rock on!
