Hey, depression, I just got out of that! :D

I can suggest many different things to do for it:

1.) Draw. Even if you're not very good. Drawing something that you enjoy always helps take your mind off things.
2.) Listen to music / dance. You'd be amazed how therapudic DDR can be. :p
3.) Watch anime. Seriously, if the show is any good, you'll focus entirely on the show and forget why you were ever upset in the first place.
4.) Play video games. Sometimes, the only way to get out of that slump is to wail on a virtual character until they explode.
5.) Talk to someone who's not quite so depressed. Talking to others can really help you order your thoughts, and help you to decide what to do next.

    Now, things to NOT do:

1.) Don't get drunk. It's been said before in this thread, but alcohol is a depressant. You'll only feel worse. For that matter, don't do any drugs.
2.) Don't try to sort it out yourself. You'll only succeed in repeating the very reason you're upset over and over again, amplifying the pain.
3.) Don't cut yourself or hurt yourself physically in any way. Yes, it gets you attention, but it also releases chemicals in your body that make you feel worse. Also, it's just plain not safe.
4.) Suicide is NEVER the answer.

    Hope that helps!

i used to do that!!! but when i was little, i used to pull out my teeth when mad or depressed. so i got all my adult teeth when i was like, 6 or 7.

yeah, so anyway, now i just clean my room and move everything around.

oh, and if there's a situation or something, i always try to solve it myself. i never trusted anyone after i was like... 7 or 8.

Find some stuff that makes me laugh (usually very very dark humour). Vent by writing or perhaps loading up a game and blowing up some stuff (there's something very cathartic about bombarding an enemy base in Total Annihilation). I don't drink to get away from my problems, but one drink with a buddy does make it easier to smile I have to admit. But keep in mind I'm with a buddy, a good movie and usually a couple girls, so thats different.

If I'm about to crack, I talk to someone. Even if its just online its a great vent.

DO NOT DRINK BY YOURSELF. No good will come of it.

Oh, another great thing - cranking some music and having extended listening sprees. But then thats what I do whether I'm happy or sad anyway, so it doesn't quite count.

I don't get depressed very often, but when I do it is from being angry and not being able to do anything about it. My usual reaction is to cry my eyes out, throw up, and fall asleep. The throwing up isn't related to bulimia or anything, it's just how my body reacts to that type of stress.

To make myself feel better, I complain to someone else about everything that's bothering me. I play video games, hang out with my friends, read a book(happy romance, usually), watch movie, listen to disco(yeah, I know, but I really like it), or make myself all dressed up and pretty.
