Anime What do you like in Anime cartoons?

That's exactly the same with me...

Also it seems most anime cheers me up when I'm down(like Saber Marionette J). It's better than getting drunk or something...seriously!!

I also share the same view as u do. The style of the drawing and even the coloring is very important.
My perfect anime would be a series with a big number of dark and mysterious characters that u wouldnt know who is good or bad..

I pray for the day that manga would produce a series like that .. Oh please god

 

My favourite feature of anime is DRAMA. For example, look at Ninja Scroll, one of my favourites. There is a scene done in black and white, a flashback to a character's past. In that scene, there is quite a bit of blood to be found, and that blood appears in colour. The red-on-black-and-white effect gives a sense of drama difficult to duplicate.
Really, though, any aspect of most of the animes I've seen amazes me. I love action, and as twisted as it sounds, the violent type is, in my opinion, the best. The comedy is usually a whole lot better than the wastes of airtime found in American sit-coms, as its not the same thing over and over again (take that, NBC!).

That's what I've been wondering too. there's a whole thread about avatars in the anime forum. There's kind of an explanation there why(you may have to go to last 60 day posts)

 

To answer the original question: Comedy! I want to laugh. Too many years of dull saturday morning crap makes me love SMJ, FLCL, Ranma, etc.

Also, stuff that makes you think. Evangelion is great that way, and Lain seems to be so far.

I love it when it's well drawn, not like certain 10 frames a second junkwads.

What's so great about Anime? Plot, Drama, Art, Comedy... just about everything, and that's why I love it! The beautiful tragedies like the RK OAV, the stylized parodies like Excel Saga, and then the raw style of Cowboy Bebop and Noir, the lists go on, but I think my point is made. I love Anime!

Id have to say big mobile suits with weapons capable of taking out asteroid's cities etc... , Gundam Wing it would have to be
Good story to it (some might agree others might not) , good characters too , and i think they the way they drew the gundams was fairly well done , just think u are the animator , u would have to keep drawing it over again with just a slight offset

 

Giant mecha anime's rule!! It's probably my favourite category along with comedy and action. That's why I love Nadesico so much!

Heero have you seen Mobile Suit Gundam on Toonami yet?

 

I hate big mobile suits or mecha...but when I saw Gasaraki it amazed be because it was realistic...but not like the Gundam Wing or Nadesico.

I love realistic shows which there isnt in the manga industry for only some exceptions

Its kind of realistic but there are some exaggerated fantasy but that what keeps us watching
