Philosophy What is the purpose of our existence?

Umm if that was the purpose than a lot of us would not have a purpose in life you would want to change it to search for love.

Our purpose in life is unknown to us.But for us to live is enough of a purpose to live life to the fullest is a dream for all to imagine

 

I believe that our purpouse can never be known until before we die. When the end is there and you look back, the answer was written so that you could read it. Maybe thats why most old people never have any regrets. They've lived a full life and if they had second chances they'd do it all over the same.

Its either that, or our purpouse is defined by who we are. But for every action, wether good or bad, our purpouse shifts. But then again, it was meant to shift in that direction. So it'd end up being like a destiny. Its uncontrolable (sounds like the matrix, eh!?).

I still believe that everyone's purpose is something that one finds for themselves. Be it a small thing or something huge. One's purpose is what one decide's one's purpose is.

 

I agree with kaiyon holheatedly. you cant say what your destiny cause no one, not even you, knows what it is. and when you die, you can look back at your life and realize what your life meant and what your purpose was. your destiny is written in a book that you cant read. a scroll no one can decipher and a stone no one can carve into but yourself.

 

That's exactly what im trying to say. Something along the lines of

"Life is like a book you write first, and you learn to read last"

...or something like that. Idk! Whatever our purpouse is, its always there at the inevitable end.

and when the inevitable end comes, we can finally open that book, and read what our destiny was. what our purpose was, what happened as a result of it as well.

 

What if there was never a book...what if there are no results to what we have done. Maybe we dont have an existence....even thought Iam here....or i think iam here...let me go check.

 

Touching

This is really a good subject. I believe we were put on the world with our own choice and our own beliefs. There are different religions and customs that follow that. You can be a prep a punk or whatever you want. I don't know what really happens when you die but, while i'm alive everything I do is going to be what I want to do, no one tells me what I want. I believe that's the reason for our existence is a choice.

Don't waste time trying to figure out your purpose in this world.. Too much awareness belittles life itself.. Simply just live your life.

 

This is a philosophy forum, it's purpose is for us to think about these matters. If no person ever 'wasted' time trying to figure out seemingly trivial things then we would still be living in caves.

Anyways, here's the definition of purpose..

So, either a person creates their own purpose, or a high being has determined what our purpose is. For us to talk about our purpose, there could be a reaction from this.. A person might read this and decide to go into philosophy and become a very influential person later on. Now whether this event would be spontaneous or some force was guiding that person, who might change the world as we know it, here is up to you to figure out.

 

Life has no purpose therefore I am free to make of it what I like.

 

By saying it has no purpose, you say that you have neither goals nor dreams. Nothing to strive for, as was the meaning of 'purpose'. But somehow, some way, you'll think people do have something to live for, by seeing how much one person means to another. How one could affect other people's lives. What they could do to their fellows. And how much they influence the greater number of the community.

 

i make my purpose in life.... as i don't believe in god i also believe that my purpose in life is what i do with it. if it's good or not thats for others to decide but i'm happy with it and if i conquer my dreams then i'll reach my purpose in life.
