Full Metal Alchemist Who else cried like a baby? (spoiler thread)

Out of curiosity, how'd you see it coming? I knew before I even watched the series (I swear, Hughes is the Aerith of anime, but no pink dress. The death made thousands of fans cry, was a huge turning point in the series and is like common knowledge even to non-fans. =/) so I probably didn't catch some of the details (except the few leading up to his death. You have the sinking feeling at that point he definitely won't be making it out alive.)


This death affects me more I find now than when I actually saw it. I blame the fact that I started writing fanfiction with Hughes and became attached to him in that writer sense. Now I'm in denial. D:
