I'm sure Rag has PayPal, or something like that. If not, conventional letters with cash work too. And I can't believe most of our users are actually in Canade. You learn something new everyday. Okay, okay....$2 dollars.

If I would bother to get a paypal account I could donate up to $200 for it. $450 is too much saved up for the Rev when it's most likely only going to be $100-$150.

Well, there are only a core group of active members here on BJP (myself included). They're mostly the mods and high post count people. You've been an active member so far though, it's great to see new members stick around. Most of them join and never come back.

It wouldn't cost that much to get a private room, assuming I could. The big costs would be for all of you, paying to fly your way out here. :p

Although... Yes, I have paypal, and you're welcome to send me as much money as you want. :D

It's a good idea, but I agree with Hitohiro (at least I think that's how you spell it). If we could make it a local thing, it would work, but otherwise this forum is too wide-reaching. Lets keep it in one state please.:(

P.S. Any other New York members, this is a distinct possibility.:D

i think its a great idea, but like alchemy_dude said the members are a little streched out even on the state level i think.

how bout country conventions?? that way everyone in the country can come together. state meetings also sound to complicated.

or [this just came to me]

internet meetings hello video cam!! bah we are back to where we started, dang brain only works when it wants all the other times it makes me look a fool.

The problem is like the beginning, members are to spread out...if a wide spread of members lived in one area that would be better, but the problem is that there isn't...:dizzy2:

A fair number of members live in Canada and the northern United States. I know from experience that flight costs would range between $200-$600 or $700 at most, for those living in that area. The question then becomes "How much are you willing to spend to meet these people?" :p

Granted it would exclude those living outside of North America, (sorry Teddz :p), but what can you do? Bringing people together on a forum as global as this one is expensive no matter how you cut it.

The only way I could see is to set up a donation or something for those who can't afford it as easily. I know! Paypal all of your money to me and I'll run off with i... I mean buy tickets for everyone. :D

Well it is a problem for me since I live in Florida, and because of that I wouldn't be able to go,still if I lived in canada or northern US I probably still couldn't go(I mean come on parents entrusting a 13 year old to go see people they talk to over the internet...)So there are basically still a lot of problem to work out...

Indeed, and it'll always be a problem. Sad as it may be, this is one idea I think is and will remain little more than a pipe dream.

Still, it would be neat, and it's fun to plan up everything we'd do in the event we got to do it- like making name tags or something for everyone. :)

Maybe one of these days we can like make like a convention not in one place but in several, that would be best don't you think.

Also we could bring a lot of more friends if it's in more then one place...
We can have Cloud announce his speech on air to all conventions.

If we had more then one place people are sure to pass by...this way we can get more members while we are having the convention.

This will probably cost 10x more then the original cost...but it might be worth it.

And plus we don't have to do it right away we can have donations coming from all members...:D

Been suggested before, and the same reasons against practicality were brought forward. Our members simply span too much of the world to really put the personal touch into play.

It doesn't mean smaller groups can't meet, however. I remember Berry, MO, UK, Aoi, etc getting together in the midwest a year or so back. Myself, Tama, and Guy get together at least once a year. And Rag popped on over into Ontario to see Neph-X recently.

I just wouldn't hold your breath for a full-fledged BJP convention.

Someone was talking of state-wide conventions. That wouldn't be possible either because NOBODY lives in Tx, so I'd be alone. However, we could do a regional convention. I mean like the Midwest, the north, pacific, atlantic, the south, etc. You see what I'm saying. That would make it a just a little easier on everyone.

It wouldnt convince me enough to pay a plane ticket to dance with Ragnarok, or anyone for that matter.
Sure, the prices sound nice, and we meet all the people we know here at the site. But is that enough to attract someone? Not for me, sorry.

You'd have to bring some guest celebrities to bring me along the party, like most conventions do.

For example, if you told me Laura Baley, Greg Ayres, Jerry Jewel, Vic Mignona and that guy who does Armstrong on FMA (along with other voices, like Aion's, Souske's or even Goku's) i would pay the entire trip. I know, i know...its impossible to bring such.
I think its impossible to bring a celebrity, period. No offense...really.

Yes, if it was an all expense paid trip paid for all the members of Boards.jp (or most active), then i would attend. But we all know only people like Tom Cruise and John Travolta are rich like that.

It'd be nice, but its not possible.

    Sorry.

Alright, let's skip the money problem for now. So let's say that everyone who wanted to go had their to and return transportation paid for (regardless of location), the area we would hold the convention would be paid for, and all things needed during the convention would be paid for. Who would go, and what problems/conflicts would be left?

I think it goes without saying for me. :D

Then the only problems would be finding the place, getting over our embarrassment, and knowing who's who, I think. :p

Edit: My postcount is a palindrome. Neat.

Well most of the members here are either Male or Female(DUH), so that would be a way of knowing who's who!?!?!:D

We'd have all the guys on one side(about 75% of BJP),
And the girls on the other(about 25%)

When we get name tags if you put your real name people will start saying WTF, we have a member called so-so...
