Nephilim finally passed out from all his drinking, returning to his tormented, disturbed dreams.

Unbeknown to him, a rather hungry dog was in the area...

 

*bump*

 

Athena seeing the dog was about to harm Neph flew down and managed to pick him up and flew off with Aaylah flying with her.
ooc: Prene i hope it's okay i controlled your character for a little bit.

 

Although he was quite still as Athena flew with him, in his dreams Nephilim's world was turbulent and chaotic. He was seeing his wife die over and over and over again...

The last image he saw was his wife, whispering "I love you" with her dying breath, her eyes slowly shutting.

The face began to grow fuzzy, then began to sharpen into...

Athena's face.

Nephilim groaned. "Where am I? Why... you?"

 

"Good, you're okay." Athena said her voice soft. then it turned hard and strict and she said, "You shouldn't have choosen to get drunk in an open area, you were almost dogie snacks."

 

Shall we float back to get breakfast ginger?

 

Nephilim closed his eyes and sighed. "I don't even enjoy life anymore... I wouldn't have minded a bit. I probably would have given that dog alchohol poisoning and had revenge from beyond the grave... heh heh..."

Athena was silent for a moment...

Nephilim held her hand and said "Thank you."

 

"Your welcome, well I know it's not much but I don't want you to die. You remind me of someone I once knew a long time ago." Athena said, "I'll stay with you for a little bit."

 

Nephilim slightly smiled. "Thank you..." and he fell back asleep, his scarred skin losing its tautness as his muscles finally relaxed for the first time in what seemed like forever.

And for once, his sleep held no nightmare.

 

*Ginger smiles sweetly and blushes* Yes. Yes, Kenny, I think we shall. *Ginger looks deeply into kenny's eyes and sighs* Kenny-

 

Yes? is there something wrong?

 

Athena watched over Nephilim as he slept and sighed, "What have I gotten myself into."
She looked up at the sun and realized that she was suppose to meet Ginger and Kenny soon. She then shook her head and thought, i'll have to apologize to them later.

 

Nephilim finally woke up the next morning, feeling rested and almost pleasant.

Athena had fallen asleep beside him over the night, and the morning dew had collected on her wings, casting prismatic rainbows all around.

"Beautiful..." he uttered. It had been ages since he had seen the almost artistic beauty of faerie women and dew, and it awed him.

 

Athena awoke and realized that she had fallen asleep and that now Neph was awake. She lightly brushed off a couple of the dew drops and said, "Good morning, i hope Ginger and Kenny forgive me for skipping out on them yesterday."
Athena looked at Neph he was looking at her funny and she said, "What? is there mud on my nose or something?"

 

"Oh no" Nephilim laughed. "Quite the contrary. Its just, you're very beautiful. And, I've lived the past... nearly as far as I can remember now in a blaze of hatred and bloodlust. And... bah, I'm rambling."

 

Athena blushed and said, "Thank u." Then her voice changed and she shouted, "What were u thinking getting drunk! Do you know how stupid that was! What if one of those other trolls had killed u?"

 

Nephilim shrugged. "I haven't really had much to live for besides vengeance. I don't fear the end. Y'see... I... I had a family, at one time. And, it was blissful. Pure beauty, and... trolls came. They pinned my wings to the wall, and ripped the wings off of my dearest wife, and my children. And they smoked the wings right in front of me... and then they tossed them to some evil pixie cannibals. They left me for dead... heh. Look close and you can still see the pin-holes in my wings."

 

That's terrible!" Athena said, softening, "But don't u think u could make better use of ur talents. And wouldn't ur wife and children want u to live."

 

"I'm sorry Athena... but even if they wanted me to live life, I can't live it joyfully."

 

"Nephilim, do you want to cause your wife and children pain in their afterlife? They probably feel so bad for you right now." Athena said, trying another tactic, "So how about you let me take you home and then i'll go and try to find my other friends and I'll check up on you later?"
