I dont like being around people much so I havent been to an anime convention and probably would never go to one.

If they are in America too there is also the travel difficulties with me being in the UK.

    I've been to one.

Anime Expo Tokyo. Was great, even though it was small. I was actually a staff member, so I got to go all the way to Nippon for a really great price.

And I saw a really cute chick cosplaying as Uchiha Sasuke from Naruto. And ANOTHER really cute chick that was cosplaying as FFX Yuna. AND this dude doing a Big-O Cosplay that was ABSOLUTELY complete.

Can you imagine? A 5'2" japanese business man...with a big molded foam kit that turned him into a 7' Big-O!

AND I have pictures of him choking Crispin Freeman! Buahahaha!

I just went to my first one last summer, Anime Expo.
I got to met my favorite seiyuu (anime voice actor), Tomokazu Seki.
I had so fun I want to go again next summer. :D

    Yes. Disappointed.

I went to one... well it was more like a comic convention, but it was anime too.

Anyway I expected to find more geeks (like the old times), but instead i found lots of darkies (no offense to those around here), and teens which well.... how would i put it... you wouldn't invite to dinner with your grandparents :p

selling stuff.... but no sign of anime showcases... i don't know, i expected something "magical" to be there, but in the end it looked too... conventional :-/

    Or maybe it's just me.

I went to Anime North 2004, and Animethons 2001 and 2004. Animethon was a disappointment. I didn't know what was going on, or where anything was, or much else, because, you had to pay to get a guidebook! Besides that, I was broke. I had no money at the time.

The only really fun thing about Animethon 2004 was trying to find Fushigi Rockna, but she turned out not to be there.

Anime North, on the other hand, was quite enjoyable. I made several friends I'll likely never see again, bought a CRAPLOAD of stuff, and generally had a great time. Although, I kind of spoiled it by spending FAR too much time in the dealer's room. Spent over $400 in a single day! :dizzy2:

Anyway, I intend to go to Anime North next year, and I plan to go as Otaru from Saber Marionette J. I hope to see some of you there!

I've been to only one convention (Metrocon 2004). It was pretty cool besides the whole lack of sleep, food, and money. I just went there to sit and watch the cosplayers and the anime and hang out with friends. It was pretty kick ass though when they started the glompings :p .

Friends of mine have been thinking about cosplaying next year so might join them (but I'm more for just admiring other costumes so maybe not).

Never been on one. And most likely never going to. I just don't feel like going to one. Too much of a hassle just to look at anime.
