Polls How lengthy do you prefer your anime?

For me it despends on whether or not the anime is any good or weither the storyline is actually going anywhere. If the story can keep up and is good then 26 or even more is good. But i think that to much will just kill the story eventually so a good 26 episodes are usually good enough.

 

Personally, I'd say "the longer, the better", but if you can fit the content and story of 26 episodes into something much shorter, then I think it's preferrable to the insane amount of filler that's to be had in, oh, say...DBZ. Not dissing DBZ, but it takes too long for anything to happen. So, in the end, for me, it really depends on the series, and I only know what length I'd have liked after I've watched the anime.

 

While OVA series have their benefits, and on many ocassions I like OVA series more then related TV series, I really like animated series to go on and on for a very long time, kinda like my favorite Saber Marionette animated series!

 

I choose the short ones b/c otherwise they cost too much. I mean like ranma- i bought like 2 of them and i gave up because to buy them all id end up bankrupt...

 

Thinking about it, I would have to say Average length, as all my favorite anime series are 25-26 episodes long. Saber Marionette J, Slayers, Excel Saga, Outlaw Star, etc. etc.

Of course, sequel series are typically very good. (Like Saber Marionette J to X, Slayers Next and Try, etc. etc.) But I would count them as separate series as they are released under a different name.

 

I just love it when they're short and sweet, around 1-10 episodes per series.
That way, it's cheaper to buy!
But also, tons of anime titles are 24-26 episodes in length. It's kind of unoriginal, you know?

 

i would have to say the average 26 episodes as well too. some of my fave animes like Evangelion and Escaflowne end at that point. yes, i do pout for quite some time that it ends, but deep down i know that it's for the best to not over expose the anime so that it becomes annoying. but still....why did Escaflowne end?!

Well i like mine really long.I like animes that are long because they can have different story lines/or sagas.but don't get me wrong there are plenty of good not so long animes, like Cowboy Bebop and Trigun....But theres nothing like a nice long anime to watch.LAte

 

I prefer semi-long anime's. I think 26 eps isn't enough to explain things throughly but I don't want it to be in late 100's or 200's. Now thats too long. O__O;

 

Between Average and long. Although just 26 eps. is good enough.
