See, you guys don't know the capabilities of vBulletin. :p

I think it's safe to say that anyone who registered 6 months ago or more and still hasn't made more than 10 posts, isn't going to be the new Ragnarok. :p Although perhaps if they haven't logged in in say... three months, it'd be fine to delete them.

And I think if you start going too much more than that, you start bumping off valuable members and former contributors as well as the dead weight.

Hmm...to start out, 6 months is way to little. Perhaps erase the oldest members first, then let new ones know the new Inactivity rule. I myself signed up for boards.jp june or somewhere there, and forgot about it until a while later. A big while...

Lets throw the "dead-er' weight first and warn. Perhaps we could see where we go from there?

You PMed me like, a week after you joined. :p

I think the post count limit makes for a good prune. You don't kill any established members like Lady Aoi or something, but you do get rid of the people who've never done anything for the forum.

True. The ten post or less rule should be applied. I'm not sure about the three months of inactivity, but hey, I'm not in charge.

I say that if users that are really old, but are let's say in the first few pages of the Member's List when you click on highest posts, I think they should at least get the honor of staying members, since they too posted, and quite a bit if they're in the first few pages.

This topic has been brought up several times in the past; honestly, I can't remember the other outcomes, but it did come to a conclusion. Just FYI.

Also, a suggestion of even four months is much too short; I myself cannot log on during the summer months due to being in a location with a complete lack of internet, as well as a job in a similar situation. I'm quite sure I'm not the only one with this kind of predicament.

This is where the post-count rule applies. Even if you're inactive since sometime in 2001, if you've got more than that many posts, your account remains.

To be deleted, an account has to meet *all* the requirements, not just one. Unless Cloud of course, enters only one of those requirements in the prune option. :p But he wouldn't do that, I'm sure.

Therefore, with 6 months registered / 3 months inactivity / > 10 posts as the standby, Lady Aoi wouldn't get deleted, and krazydragon121 would remain, but Naotakun would be deleted.

Rag did his homework, hmmm. Anyways, if a member signs up then never comes back, technically, we didn't lose anything. They didn't contribute to the forum or post or anything so, we didn't lose anything. They should just be deleted.

pfft, a couple of two second searches in the Memberlist is hardly "doing my homework." :p

The fact of the matter is a prune would only take out the members that have *never* been active. Those members that *were once* active, but aren't any more, would remain.
