And yet, if I'm not mistaken, earlier in this thread you criticized others for watching the whole series fansubbed before purchasing their dvds.

And if you weren't aware previously that a lot of what you're buying is the bootlegs, what did you think about the poor quality on the Evangelion movies you have? Japanese companies wouldn't do that to their customers any more than American companies would.

As for American companies removing things...I know for a certain fact that not all of them do, and it's usually for the dubs, since that's what is shown on mainstream American television. I've seen FUNimation copies of DBZ subtitled anime, where nothing was altered. True, they did things like change the music for the dub. But DBZ was also their first anime released in America. They're getting increasingly better. My roommate is quite happy with her Fruits Basket dvds (FUNimation), which not only have 6-7 episodes per disc and the original Japanese music for both the Japanese language track and the dub track (they translated the opening and ending songs, though), the dvds (2nd one, at least, so far) also has a lot of the original Japanese extras on it. ADV also seems to be doing a wonderful job with the series they release, even if their dubbing is sometimes questionable. I watch the subs anyway.

If you truly want the Japanese dvds instead of the American ones, be prepared to get your series with only 2-3 episodes per disc on average, as that's how it's released in Japan. Also, don't complain if there aren't even English subtitles and if they won't play on your dvd player. The original Japanese release dvds of Inuyasha, for instance, have only 2-3 episodes per disc (2 on the very first dvd), and don't have any subtitles or dub voices. They also cost a pretty penny, and won't play on most American dvd players because they are region 2, and American players are region 1.

Griffeth, if you're fine with bootlegged anime, go ahead and continue to purchase on eBay. None of us are going to stop you. But don't come here acting like a n00b and telling everyone to shop for their anime on eBay. Some of us like to do things the legal way.

And if you're so opposed to HK bootlegs, stop getting your anime on eBay and try some of those wonderful links I listed in my previous post.

Actually, to expand a little on your topic Kagorashi...FLCL DVDs in japan came out at ONE per episode! ONE! ONE!!!! That's horrendous. Although it DID come with an amazing amount of extras, that's 50% less episodes than what SynchPoint and Production-I.G. is releasing. Yeah, you heard me, for a *6* episode OVA, FLCL has ONE ep per disc in Japan and TWO for American/PAL releases.

Kare Kano is doing pretty well with its releases too. 6 eps in the first disc, and 5 in the subsequent two. As opposed to Noir who'll need SEVEN!!! DVDs to finish out the box set for the ADV releases. Boo them. And I bought the sleeve and vol 01 too! Damnit.

Oh, and you'll need either a japanese (or PAL) DVD player or a regionless one to be able to play a straight-from-japan DVD, I believe. But, if you get a PAL DVD player, you'll have to have an adaptor to be able to fit voltage in there. ^_^ Expensive propostion.

were in the heck have i done what you claimed!?!? I said that people who view fansubs may not want to buy that same anime when it is released. Cause they could buy anime that they haven;t seen yet. But I buy what i like regardless if I have seen it Fansubbed or not. You seem to like to quote me alot so find the quote that you claim, is critzing. That is quite a large claim now I want to see it!

Trying to get in good with the long-time members now, are we?

The title of my post is really the most important thing. After insulting members, you then try to apologize? Hmm, right.

Well, anyhow, you'll have to do some really superb posting to win my respect. Uh, by the way, I believe your last post is kind of spammy. I could be wrong though.

**is itching to be able to edit that post....**

GAH! Just wait till you try doing this where my moderatorship duties are concerned.....

Meaikoh_Takashi hmm I have a few comments on your post but since I dont want to start Fraternizing, I'll just save it to one. How on the Earth could you call any one acknowledgeing a mods direct warning spam.
In I want to see quotes of what you call insulting, if you think that your so witty lets see it. It seems that when ever I call any one on anything they never confirm what they saw. Lets see if you a mod will beable to show me where I was insulting. If you or any one else wants to play then I say lets go for it, the worst thing that can happen is that I get banned by some mod on a power trip. Which wont affect me at all, hey this is only my 3rd day.

It was when you brashly generalized people who dislike spoilers as not being fans of anime.

Also, when you called me a dumbass.

There's probably other parts too, but thats just what I remember.

Perhaps under the new regulations this doesn't count as an insult...And anyhow, anything that is less than a line altogether and doesn't add to the subject is considered spam in my book.

I don't have that spam definition on hand, but I'm sure somebody else will be happy to give it to you.

I usely try to mind my own bussiness on some things, but when I see some one making an arse of them self at the expense of other it kinda makes me do these things. I have no idea why you needed to say this to Tenchi.
If your suppose to be some kind of Guru Neph you could have easily said Hey tenchi I see that you are new here and this is your first post, we have some regulations against the words that you have posted. If you would like to know more about this code that we try to follow you can check out this thread http://www.mangatoanime.com/manga/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=628 .

I was kidding that way to and I didn't mean like fun boy fun boy, I was thinking along the terms of something different, Some times Tenchi was just saying Hi I dont think that he was trying to spam his way to the Top it still says one post right.
Just that your comment made me think that at first, hmm even if you were that way, I am not saying that you are but it is none of my bussiness for how you swing nor would I say anything bad to any one if they were. A prefernece is a preference, it may not be my choice but it is not mine to make for other people.

How's that for a direct quote?

If you read my post carefully, you'll notice I'm not claiming that you do throw your dvds away when you're done. I was merely asking rhetorically if you did. What I was addressing was your statment that if we've already seen the whole series, why bother buying it? To which I responded that we buy it because we like it. True, they can buy anime they haven't seen yet, but then they run the risk of purchasing something that they then find out they really don't like at all, as has been mentioned already.

Did anything else in my post confuse you? I'll be happy to explain it in clearer detail.

And Tenchi, I may not be a mod for the Anime forum, but as a mod, I would like to ask you to please try to keep your posts topic-related if possible. If you post to say "hi" to someone, add something topic-related after it. Thanks. ^_^
