Art Sketch Only Thread

Thats how I started, I used to print of pictures and copy them, I got pretty good then started designing characters ^_^. I love that cg superfly, please tell me how do you get the lines like that?.

Let's see, first of all I make sure the lineart is standing out fairly good in the scan (I've scanned this picture at 600dpi :dizzy2: ), then I put the picture to Greyscale in PS, THEN to Bitmap, then to Greyscale again, then RGB-colors...
Remember, I DID say it was at 600 dpi... so scanning might take long, and uhh, yeah you better have a big load of RAM.

600 dpi? @_@ thats nuts, I scan at 300 dpi and it works just fine, try it out

Wow, that's a great pic! :anime: Looks so carefree, and I really like the girl's proportions! (Kinda reminds me of my own drawing of my skinny character, who also has her backpack set down on a seat).

Edit: I did this lil drawing maybe a year ago. The Korean writing reads "Oraeganmanieyo!" and means "Long time no see!" :sweat2: I drew it in my cheap memo book. :anime:

 

I wanted to do 300 dpi first, but when I thought about the lineart getting all grainy when turning it into Bitmap colors, I realized it was the best thing to do.

Nice story Rem, quite a romantic mind you seem to have. No wonder you mention your boyfriend all the time, neh? :anime:
I left out some romance on purpose in my story, I'm trying to break with the standard storylines and plots.
Therefore, Armane and Anaïs are NOT in love, Armane is her teacher in sword mastery, and he refuses she'll call him her "master". Reason?
Armane:" A master is someone you obey, but a teacher is someone you respect."
(or something along the lines)

Oh right, picture is finished, it'll now be implemented into my new site.
(and on a sidenote, the characters are:
Armane: guy in the middle with red bandana
Anaïs: tanned girl with green hair
Kunu Law: the cowboy guy, but he's a summoner
Quil: blindfolded guy, senseless being
Jadey: the weird girl in the back, shapeshifting druid

thanks for all the comments ^_^. The idea came from my boyfriend who's user name is : mangamonkey, he wrote a poem and we made it into memories ^_^. But I did the art so there ^_^. Thanks everyone. I love that CG superfly, how do you get it so good?. What program do you use? and do you set the transparency on the shading?
