some more sketches I had been working on...
First one was a tryout on Armane's Berserker form...
Second was another attempt at a design for my character Kunu Law. I have a hard time finding the right costume for him...

Hey, decided to post a few sketches. Nothing to complicated since my desks a mess and im in the middle of heavy heavy work. The first one is a little girl with her foot in the air, actually I kinda like this girl and she'll probably become a charcter in my manga sooner or later. The next one is a guy's face... and the last one is a sketch of good ol Astro Boy. I didn't do anything complicated and it was literally sketched!!!! I couldn't remember what he looked like so I used a picture. I like the kid and until I get used what he looks like I won't be able to draw him freehand.

 

Sorry, not in the mood to start re-scanning, re-photoshoping and changing file sizes (Astro boy file size to large to be put with the other two).

Oh yeah, any comments,critizism or anything appreciated. I like reading it, you may even correct my spelling of critizism cause i have no clue.

ETA: hmmm seems that the file size was to big all together, I had to lower the quality EXTREMELY.

Nice drawings everyone, I really like your style Superfly I think it has rubbed off on me for some reason, the ears just keep cropping up into my sketches. I am working on a CG of a girl I know, but will only post it up if she permits me cos I don't want to offend her or anything. So if she gives the all clear expect to see my second ever CG. I really want to know how you got those nice crisp black outline in that sketch of the guy holding the book, Kuna. For his hand and such?

the one who's holdin a book is soo cool, but you should make his left shoulder more higher just in the right place, the hand which holdin the book i perfect ^_^!
and the final one you posted was soo creepy!! i like it allot bro ^_<

cp, i can see that you like DB allot ^_^, and that's just like me!! ~n_n!
but i think you should use the guides to draw faces and bodies, it's a good way to start with ^_^

The lineart was very very light, so I pumped up the scan settings of my scanner, and the "crisp black outlines" are actually pencil lines ^_^;; But like I said, I pumped up the settings of the scan...

Fixed some parts on the shoulder, might scan the new version soon.

 

CP, i like the first one a lot , second one has some issues wit face proportions, third one is cool :anime:

Yeah, I tried fixing left eye on the second pic...but, it still turned out bad. Thanks for the comments, appreciated. :anime:

Superfly does have great character design, I seriously do not know how he come up with designs like that.

Thanks Child of Sin, but what do you mean by guides? The only kind of guide that I can think of that I use is small stick figures for really complicated pics (lots of action and movement), and even then I don't draw on the guides, just sketch from them.

But yeah, I learned to draw from sketching DB characters, I kind of changed the design a bit for my own style, mostly in the adults though.

ETA: Hey, gonna put up a pic real soon, I'm doing it now actually but I have a problem. Whenever I sketch, for some reason I sometimes press to hard with my pencils which makes it hell to erase. It's a very bad habit and was wondering if anyone has a solution. Thanks

 

just use different mines, use a H mine first then retrace with a HB or B mine, hope it helps.

 

This is a sketch I made when I was visiting Toronto. That really doesnt have any relevence to this picture, but....meh.

I want some serious criticism on this peice. dontbe nice if you can. People on this site are way too nice :anime:

Done this one in school, completely done in ballpoint.
Finally nailed down a design for my character Kunu Law. Wheeee!
He's a summoner instead of the brute warrior (but he can summon the blade Mysteltain) .

k heres my contribution.. its not a sketch but an experimental image... tryin texture brushes you see. i didnt want to make up a seperate thrd for it since it wasnt good enough...ok enough chatting. took me around an hour to complete on ps7.
