Debate So how young is your girlfriend?... WHAT?!?

I think 17 and 18 can be allowed to date anyone they want. Even those old fogies in there 90's. But if your 16 years and younger dating one that is 18 years or older is robbing the cradle.

As the song by City High- “15 will get you 20” implies 15 year olds dating anyone 18 years or older will get 20 years in jail and those dating 16 year olds with anyone over 18 will get 10 years in jail. Don't think it can't happen to you, cuz it happened to one of my friends. I like that song.

I was so disgusted when I saw this 14 year old girl dating a man over 30. He looked like her freaking dad.

To me age matters. I don’t like younger men. I have only dated one but he was so childish I will never do it again. Plus he went to the psychiatric ward. I like older men. I say for me 10 years tops in difference.

We had a discussion here at Little House recently, inspired by an appearance by a certain Hillary Duff on TV. One of the guys commented that she was hot. Another guy agreed. I pointed out that she is 15. The first guy replied that she is still hot. The second guy smacked him. The end result: we decided that the second guy could say so, because he's only 17, but the other guy and myself, both being 19, cannot.
Someone's really too young for you if being with them could constitute a crime of some kind.

 

Urm, im 18 and my girlfriends 18. she`s a whopping 4 months older.

Thats strange, id have thought same age relationships would`ve been more common than they appear to be, or has high school romance mainly disappeared in recent years?

It's the same either way, if you asked me. Of course, you didn't. And wouldn't. But anyway, that's my bit.
I mean, regardless of gender, in the interest of equality, logic and fairness, we have to equate everyone as the same, right?
I hate to seem like I'm attacking you specifically today (because I could easily see you getting that idea), but 17 is an age of much more mental and physical maturity.

 

My girlfriend is 15 and im 16. I think the age differance thing really has to be taken on a case by case basis, some people mature faster then others, personaly i dont see a problem with a 15 year old going out with a 20 year old as long as there both mature enough.

 

Yeah, but just about every girl I ever knew thought she was "mature" at the age of 13.

We can all agree that as age progresses the age differencial doesnt become much of a concern. My age gap would be like Neph....your age and 2 plus or minus.....

 

I would say that a for year difference is good for teen. I personaly would not date ANYONE younger than 15-16 (I'm 18). Beside a girlfriend/bofriend(ethere way) is just someome you like being around and likes being around you, and to some times go on dates, and dates are just people go out with each other it not like ther doing-it that's a different story.
And beside if the parints are okay with who is any one to say other wise.

 

Just a little input... I'm not sure at what age they got together (but I believe the mother had her first son when she was 19) but the male is like 14 years older than her. All still happy together and stuff with three kids and the likes... I also know someone going out with someone ten years older than him. (Him being 17).

Though, naturally, I don't really give a **** about it all. I mean, as long as you're prepared for what you're getting into.

 

What an interesting topic! I have to say that, as long as both parties are of legal age, an age difference really is up to them. Although a lot of people would think that someone getting married and/or going out with someone 25 years old then them is something to say "ewwwww!" at, you really can't help who you fall in love with. Obviously, the chances of having an older person manipulating a younger one in a relationship is there...but that won't happen all the time, of course.

I guess I know from personal experience...I know that I was in love with someone who was 8 years younger than me...but anyway!

 

if you ask me after that it all depends on maturity not on age...because honestly if you have the maturity of an older person then i think that you should be accepted on that lvel...personally at only 16 ive been accepted as if i was 25 so...i think it all depends on a persons mind...

 

im 19 my girl is 22 and i have nopromblems with that ive been with her since i was 16

Young Guy + Older women = "Such a lovely couple"

Older guy + Young woman = "Cradle robbing pedophilic bastard" (Despite both being over the age of consent)

Last year there was this girl (who was my 'friend' even though she just followed me around and swooned about Eminem) who was dating a 27 year old.
She performed oral sex on him. In her backyard. With her best friend beside here. Several times. In broad daylight. I AM NOT LYING.

Her parents took pictures of the two in bed together. She showed me them.

She was also 14 years old. (Last year.)

Now, I'm generally tolerant, but I consider that pedophilia. I say the limitus age is 3 years older/younger. Any more or less than that and I begin to think...

Oh yeah, and she broke up with the guy. Why? "I got boooooooored! Plus he ran out of pot."
