I'd call her if I could get her number, which she knows, and probably her friends, who she's always around, and so is that guy who wants to fight.

Oh come on, that guy can't ALWAYS be around her. Surely there's at least ONE time per day when he's not around. Do you two have a class together or something? Does he leave earlier then her from school (I'm assuming this is a school thing)?

Also, do you two have any mutual friends? That's always a good route to getting information like phone numbers and screenames. Or you could just brave her friend and go talk to her ;) If she's really worth your liking her then she'll at least give you the decency of a five minute conversation instead of just obeying her friend all the time.

And yeah, it's likely that the reason this 'best friend' wants you away from her is petty jealousy. He probably feels he has a claim on her and doesn't want you nosing in on his territory.

Or you could just go your route and give up. From the evidence I've gathered so far you don't even know the girl personally, so it shouldn't be too heartbreaking for ya ;)

Well yeah, I didn't know the girl too much, which is why I wanted to talk to her, but really, this guy is like all over her everytime and day. They leave at the same time from school also. And I don't have class with her. Tip for guys who are in my case, find another one.

Err, I have a general question (if you folks don't mind): How expensive is it to date? Limited income makes me a notorious tightwad.

Completely depends on what sort of dates you take her on. Go to a good restaurant, and, if you get wine, you could be spending 57 bucks if you pay for her meal. Cook her dinner at your house and dinner for both of you can be well under 10 dollars (unless you have wine).

Here is my advice: Talk to one of her friends and find out what the girl you like, likes. For example if she is in a club join that club. If its a drama club then its an extra bonus because then you can recite Shakespere to her and she will melt.
And if finding out what she likes doesn't work then you can always stalk her...thats what my g/f did to me before I noticed her...and now we are going out :dizzy2: .

And here is the best peice of advice. Be Yourself.

and if all that fails...find somebody else
