I read Medieval Trade inthe Mediterranean World by Robert S. Lopez and Irving W. Raymond last night. The only interesting bits were concerning the diversification of merchandise and the development of double-entry bookkeeping, if you can really consider either of those interesting.
Oh, and I also discovered that the penalty in Constantinople for hoarding merchandise the common man needed was a beating and a shaving. I thought that was worth noting.
Seriously, ladies and gentlemen, if anyone ever tells you to study Western European history in the High and Later Middle Ages, just save yourself a lot of trouble and run. Very, very fast.
Although, all this research has only led me to the conclusion that the Italians were a lot cooler back then.

WOW!!! You guys are impressing the heck out of me! I've been mostly reading for a thesis chapter rewrite that I'm working on, so I've read "Maps of Heaven, Maps of Hell: Religious Terror as Memory from the Puritans to Stephen King" by Edward J. Ingebresten, S.J.

"Notes of a White Black Woman: Race, Color, Community" by Judy Scales-Trent
    and

"Mulatto America - At the Crossroads of Black and White Culture: A Social History" by Stephan Talty.

I mentioned in the chapter that I wrote how many of the free people of color in Anne Rice's "The Feast of All Saints"
passed "without trace into the white race" (that's a quote from Rice) and my prof mentioned that there's a lot of theory on racial "passing", hence the reading list. I have to admit that it's really fascinating and I've been totally enjoying the research.

As for fiction, the last book would have been Rice's "Blood Canticle". I liked it, but her writing style has changed DRASTICLY since "Interview"!! I'm not saying that that's a bad thing (time will tell) I'm just saying that her style has changed.

The most recent book I've read was Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. (I know, I know, everyone in the world has read it, but it WAS for school). I (surprisingly) liked it.

I just finished Lord of the Flies, and despite everything I had heard, I rather liked it. I found it very interesting, and it really made me think.

Read "Pooh and the Philosophers" greatest book ever, aside from the "Tao of Pooh", and of course the original Pooh books.

I finished Thief Of Lives by Barb and J.C. Hendee and I went and re-read The Dragon Reborn, third book in the Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan. I am continuing my spree of reading by now picking up the fourth book in Wheel Of Time, The Shadow Rising. :p

I read The Exorcist the other day. I thought it was a great book, but it's nothing I'd ever like to experience. I haven't seen the movie, but I'm curious to see how they portrayed things.

The last book I read was Pardon Me, You're Stepping On My Eyeball by Paul Zindel. Weird book. It was ok, but not my genre of reading really. I am now reading Arrows Of The Queen by Mercedes Lackey. Will be done with this is about three days.

^^ The last book I read was acutally Magic-Onslaught cycle I by J. Robert King. I'm not a big fan of MTG but the way the book was written was excellent!! The structure and the details were amazing! The storyline is....eh....dramatic. oO Lost loved ones, long forgotten rivals and finding out that your kin is your worst enemy sort type storyline. :sweat2:

I'm currently reading "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury, I heard that was really good book but it's somewhat decent by far. So I don't know yet. :anger2: But it's a summer reading assignment so I am being forced against my will to read it.

I've finally decided to start making my way throught the Discworld books. Ive already finished the first two, The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic, and now i've already started on the third one, Equal Rites. I've decided to read them in order and i'm looking forward to Mort and Reaper Man, cause Death is my favorite character.

I just can't remember why i put off reading them for so long. Silly me!!

I own Bored of the Rings! Of course, my copy is really kinda messed up...

The last book I read was the Bourne Supremacy- it's sooo different from the movie! And right now I'm working my way through Douglas Adam's Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy (a trilogy in five parts :p).
