Anime Worst ANIME ever.

Hentai?!?!

Since when is a bit (or a lot!) of nudity a reasonable basis for calling an anime hentai?

Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, Dragonball, Outlaw Star, Galaxy Angels, Vandread and Sailor Moon all contain nudity and some contain unconventional relationships and I wouldn't call any of them hentai. Lain, RahXephon, Evangelion and Full Metal Panic all have the main characters nude during the credits for Pete's sake!

Japanese people just aren't that precious about nudity. If you come from a culture that is I'd have thought that anime wouldn't really be your thing. Unless, I suppose, your appreciation of anime ends with Kokoro Library.

Enlighten me here. I'm genuinely puzzled.

First of all I can't stand any anime that is extremely ecchi(perverted) such as Dominion Tank Police and some others, some ecchiness is kind of humurous though...like in Saber Marionette J or any anime. But hentai is just going too far! Hentai was originated because pornography is illegal in Japan... so they resort to animated stuff <-----ewwwww (metinks)
I usually turn away when there's really hentai-ish scenes and think about holding Chibi Meg in my arms though

A lot of the bad anime's I find aren't really that bad over all! I mean I really like Dragonball Z, but it is still not my favourite anime... After watching all of DBZ and most of Kenshin, I'd have to say that Kenshin has a better plot, character development, theme and animation. But I still prefer DBZ over stuff like Batman Beyond over here... Some anime's I really don't like though, like Kimera... that was just too strange seeing girls who look like guys make out with guys >.< (Project A-ko moment there )

 

Why doesn't anybody ever seem to address any of the issues I raise? Do my questions and points fall into the too-hard basket or something? It's not just this thread it happens on. All I ever seem to attract is non-sequiturs.

It's disheartening. Reinforces my suspicion that I'm Rosencrantz (or Guildenstern).

 

Hentai to me is a show that's like american pporn nothing but sex and damn near no storyline. Some shows seem like hentai but they just happen to have a lot of nudity. I don't really mind but at times it can get a little anoying cause it seems like the nudity is sometimes more imporant than the story even thought it's not a hentai.

 

Space Knight Tekkaman. This show came about in the 70's and was just terrible. Just watching the first episode made me want to burn my eyes out so I could never see anymore of it.

I have no idea how Tekkaman Blade was inspired from that show.

I do believe my evil anime creation would be enhanced like many others, Read or Die, Evangelion, etc, by including the Song of Joy for no apparent reason! It would have to be in the climactic scene where the the crying kid finally discovers the book they are looking for! This scene could be dragged out for hours!

MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

GNZ - Hmmm, I was referring to the Stoppard-style R&G really, and I don't know if the comparison works too well if you take it back to the original. My suspicion was that it was me making the knavish speeches!

 

Well, I have this thing against Evangelion.
I know that there are 'those types' who like robots and whiny chumps, but that just doesn't appeal to me. also i hat 'LEgend of the Overfeind' and all affiliated anime, as it is pointless and disgusting and is just there for disgusting, pathetic lowlife to 'gratify' themselves to.
No offence anyone who 'gratifies' themselves to hentai. And as ofr you, Zanza, I happen to think if you hate something, you should at least know why. Yes, the Dub of S.M is kinda crap, but the original show rocks. so there.

Im glad somebody stood up for SM and said something bad about Evangelian (okay but only okay- overated).
So many people love eva and hate sm but dont back it up .
Id have to question how much of it is based on actually watching the show and how much is based on "whats cool" or social conventions.
To much the latter me thinks.

I like both. And they are both good in their own way.

 

all ive seen of SM is the dub. I didnt like it, but I need someone to show me the sub before I make any decisions about its true quality.

 

I couldn't watch the dub. Sailor Moon sounded like a woman in her 30s. Ick. I'd love to see the Japanese originals though.

 

I basically like any anime if it is well done, interesting and achieves its purpose. I'm not a big fan of Hentai and do not go out of my way to watch it. However, I can appreciate such hentai titles as 'Overfiend' because of their historical and aesthetic significance in animation history. That said, the worst anime I ever saw was called 'Sins of the Sisters'. Yes, this was a hentai title, but I did not know this at the time of purchase. I didn't dislike the anime because it was hentai, but because it was poorly dubbed, poorly plotted, and all around poorly executed.

The movie is about a young soldier who dies during the Children's Crusade (an actual historic event). As he dies, he promises to come back as a fallen angel. So, in the late twentieth century he fulfills his promise by returning as a young school girl (and a hermaphrodite WTF??)) and then taking other school girls back in time to the crusades for... something.

I returned the thing to the store the next day and demanded my money back.

 

Lessee....I liked all the anime I've seen so far. So for me, I don't have any hated anime..............yet....................

 

Well, today I saw this anime called Hana Yori Dango. It was so ****. As I was watching it, I was just thinking "What the **** were they thinking?" It had bad animation, bad plot, it wasn't funny, and some of the worst music I've ever heard. Anyone seen this? Can it be as bad as I think(I have only seent the first ep)?
