Inu-Yasha A Question for the Anti-Kikyo...

And I can't see Kikyo loving Inuyasha-kun anymore since she put a knife to his neck and when she was leaving she said something about, "after the string of" whatever "is broken, it can never be restored." ya, i know what she said..."once the threads of fate have been tangled... they can not be restored." which means that once she decided to die with inu she will stop at nothing to get what she wants... or at least thats what i think...

 

Actually I'm pretty sure she meant something else by that, but I'm no expert on Japanese myths ^_^

I think they believe in something, that fate ties a red string of some sort that bounds two people together. I think what Kikyo was trying to say is that Inuyasha and herself are no longer connected and can't be ever again.

But again, I know nothing of Japanese myths so I'm probably mistaken on this.

Kenshin is somewhat in teh same position because of Tomoe and Kaoru...but Tomoe never comes back...but similar doncha think?

Kikyo is EVIL! I hate her more than Naraku! Now that is a relief to say it! Okay the reason i hate kikyo is because she keeps trying to destroy Inu and Kag. She tried to kill them. I think she was evil before she died too because she didnt like Inu as Kagome likes him. Kagome likes him for who/what he is. But kikyo didnt like him for who/what he is. She wanted to use the Shikon Jewel to turn him human. She is an evil, greedy, inconsiderate idiot who i hate! :catgirl:

 

Um, how was Kikyo evil when she was alive? Just because she didn't love him as much as Kagome doesn't mean she was evil. She truly did love him back then. How was she evil back then, if she was planning to have the jewel purified and be rid of it once and for all? How was she evil when she did her best to protect her people? How was she evil when she cared for the theif Onigumo? Despite how sinister he was. How was she evil when she wanted to help Inu-Yasha. I know a lot of Kikyo haters thought she was being selfish by wanting Inu-Yasha to be human, but if you listen to the dialogue, Inu-Yasha had fallen in love with Kikyo, and wanted to be human with her. It's what he wanted, and besides, if Inu-Yasha becomes fully demon, it wouldn't be good for him. He'd become very dangerous- far more than he is now.

If your still insisting she was evil back then when she pinned Inu-Yasha to the tree, remember this: Kikyo and Inu-Yasha were both tricked into believing they had betrayed each other, then Inu-Yasha attacked her village; taking his rage out on her innocent people (even causing Kaede to lose her eye), and Kikyo did what she had to do, even if she was enraged by his so- called "betrayal." Inu-Yasha was killing her people. If you ask me (I don't mean to sound cruel to Inu-Yasha), he deserved it. I understand how he felt at the time, but that still did not give him the right to attack Kikyo's people, or her little sister.

Finally, how was she evil at the last moment of her life? When she chose to die so that the jewel could lay dormant without becoming filled with more darkness? Where was the evil BACK THEN?

Remember, it was Naraku who was responsible for Kikyo's present state!

 

I find myself arguing more and more for Kikyo's sake lately, and I'm starting to feel a bit untrue to Kagome. Oh well, Kagome doesn't hate Kikyo either and since Kagome doesn't have very many bashers, I don't need to feel bad for trying to set Kikyo's straight^_^

O.K, star princess basically pointed out everything about why Kikyo wasn't evil before she died, in truth she was probably nothing short of perfect. And your reasoning was that Kikyo doesn't love Inuyasha as much as Kagome, therefore she's evil?

Do YOU love Inuyasha as much as Kagome?

Anyway, we've already established that Kikyo wasn't evil before passing. The second part of your post is an argument I've heard quite a lot. Everyone is always going on about how she's inconsiderate and greedy because she wanted to use the Shikon to turn him human.

Kikyo wanted to be a NORMAL woman, going on about her life like a normal person. If you had lived her lifestyle, always separated from the rest of society, you'd probably want to get out of it too. The only way to do that was to purify the Shikon, and since using it on Inuyasha would've been a noble cause, it was the perfect way to do it.

Now why she couldn't have just found some other way? Who knows? Maybe she just didn't want Inuyasha attracting attention from the villagers, since hanyous aren't exactly normal. Whatever the reason, Kikyo's reasoning may seem a bit selfish, but everybody has their selfish moments. And really, she was only trying to live a normal life.

 

its really nice to see that there are some ppl that sympathize with Kikyo. most forums i go to everyone hates her guts, usually for reasons that arent legitimate either.

Kagome's Arrow: i totally agree with everything u just said. i couldnt have said it better. i truly don't believe that Kikyo was a bad person. she did so many things during her life time to help others. even after she came back from the dead she still went on helping people. i think the main reason why it seems like she's always trying to kill InuYasha is b/c of Naraku tricking InuYasha and Kikyo into thinking they had betrayed each other. Let's just say that if u died thinking that the person closest to u had betrayed u then u came back to life and saw that person again would u be very thrilled to see them? i think alot of us would want to get back at that person. this is the case with Kikyo except it had a bigger effect on her than i would have thought. it twisted her personality quite a bit which is the reason why i think ppl hate her. they mostly see the bad side of her.

Star Princess: I agree with you with everything except when u say that InuYasha deserve what happened to him when he attacked the village. He went in to a huge fury and hurt many people but look back in to his childhood. he was always picked on by humans and learned not to trust them. so when he is tricked by Naraku in to thinking that Kikyo betrayed him of course he's going to be enraged by it and take it out on everything that stands in his path. his relationship with humans has never been great and to be betrayed by a human would have probably been the final blow to him.

I hate her before cause she will kill Inuyasha and try 2 make him 2 go 2 hell with her...and she aslo tried 2 kill Kagome.. :sweat:! but now I like her...if I ever had wrote some evil things about her...so a fomal appologys 2 all them who likes Kikyou!

 

I was just contemplating what would happen if the Inuyasha series had started out BEFORE Inuyasha and Kikyo's death, so that the very first thing we ever saw was how happy Inuyasha and Kikyo were. I think that if this were the case, most people would have automatically been drawn towards Kikyo and been much more understanding of her plight after death. Many probably would have even supported the idea of Inuyasha going to hell with Kikyo, and most of the Kikyo haters would probably turn into Kagome haters for taking Inuyasha away.

I agree with something somebody else on this forum said, the only side we ever see of Kikyo is the bad yet somewhat good side. We never see the pure, kind Kikyo other then for about three seconds in flashbacks, so we don't know what she was like before death.

Episodes 147 and 148 (I think it was these two anyway) are supposedly dedicated to Inuyasha and Kikyo before death, and I think after watching these a lot of Kikyo haters might become a bit more accepting. I think it was a good move to put them where they are, since if these were at the very beginning we would have been biased against Kagome from the start, and having almost everybody hate Kagome may not be smart seeing as she is the main character of the show. At this point most people aren't going to change their opinions totally, but these might help tweak them a little.

 

yea..kikyou is actually not that bad!^^ she's kind and helping ppl...of course she can b selfish sometime....but every ppl can b selfish! :catgirl:

 

I have a question and I don't know if anybody has the answer or everybody is sick of this question but is kikyou dead or alive?
I know she was killed then brought back to life with kagome's soul then the soul went back in to kagome's body but a little part of the soul is still in kikyou's body now kikyou (I think) goes around collecting souls? IS she alive??????? :dizzy2:

i don't know what part of the series you're at right now...but it doesn't matter. Kikyou is back, but as the "undead" which means she smells bad. so Kikyou is still sort of alive :anger2: :anger2: :anger2: no matter where you're at in the series.

I hate Kikyo...
1. What does she contribute to the show...other then in the begining.
2. She's inbetween InuYasha & Kagome.
3. I did't like her when she was Alive either
4. She should just leave InuYasha alone, if she wont beleive him then she should just go... all 'splodey.
5.SHE MAKES EVERYTHING WORSE... ex. In the second movie, she just hands the grail over and it's like: "WTF?!"

 

She's does contribute to the story..It wouldn't be interesting without her. Just admit it. Kagome and Inuyasha would be together already and it'd be boring.
