gomen! dakedou, power, i'm sorry... but i just gotta note this out...

when using the 'wa' like that, you have to use it like a 'ha.' and you're dame says deme... other than that, and your need to change the katakana and hiragana, it's fine! ^____^ .... oh yeah, and the nihon-go should only be nihongo.

    gyah... gomen, dakedou!

it just occured to me the mistakes are intentional?? could be the joke:
my japanese sucks! (and this proves it) ^^

i mean if your wrote it something like 私の日本語は駄目でしょ。 that would kind of contradict what you are saying. just a thought.

maybes powergirlc can tell us ^^

    KoNNiChiHa, O'genki desu ka?
Ore wa Tanaka-desu. Ore wa Nihon jin desu.
    Watakushi wa sensei desu...
    Wakakushi wa gakusei ja arimasen...
Dareka wa Nihon jin desu ka?

Kedoku Makoto, are you japanese? anata wa Nihon jin desu ka?
    please visit my page at

urrg i hate to spell "desu" when i pronounce it "des"
If anyone that needs help in translation i'll try my best to translate in both Hiragana or Katakana... but no i dunt read Kanji... i'm intermediate

    <corrections> counting numbers...
    1. Hitotsu
    2. Futatsu
    3. Mittsu
    4. Yotsu
    5. Itsutsu
    6. Muttsu
    7. Nanatsu
    9. Yattsu
    10. To(toh)

    Version borrowed from chinese:
    1. Ichi
    2. Ni
    3. San
    4. Yon (also shi)
    5. Go
    6. Roku
    7. Nana (also shichi)
    8. Hachi
    9. Kyu (also ku)
    10. Ju

Culture note: Just as the number "13" are consider bad luck in western culture, the japanese culture is similar, "Shi and Ku" are consider to be bad luck... "Shi" means "Death" and "Ku" can mean "to Suffer" so it is prefer "Yon" for 4 and "Kyu" for 9.

Yoko Aiyashi, I understood the Japanese you wrote except for two words. "ja" and "Dareka" (does that mean "who else"?) What does these two words mean?

I probably should not jump in on other peoples questions, but this has not been answered yet, and I think I can explain it.

"Ja" Is not so mauch a word on its own, it (in this case) is a particle to link a negative verb.

    Wakakushi wa gakusei ja arimasen
This means "I am not a student". (I think he meant to type "watakushi"). Becasue it is a negavite verb that follows a noun, ja is used. "ja nai" is the plain form.

Dareka. Dare means "who" while adding "ka" makes it an infinitive word. By that I mean dareka translates to "anyone/someone" This works with most question words.

    Nani ka = Something/anything
    Itsu ka = sometime/anytime/oneday
    doko ka = Anywhere/somewhere

And so on and so on.

    本当にロクエモンくんはどこに行ったの?
    (Honestly, where has rokuemon gone?)
