Darius slowly fell back into conciousness, but still lay motionless, conserving what was left of his energy. He didn't know how long he had been unconcious. What had happened on the roof came back to him.

Darius became aware of someone approaching him. "Lord Darius, are you alright? Is there anything I can do?" Said an unfamiliar voice. He thought back and remembered who it belonged to. Not wanting to show weakness to his one of his followers he hesitantly got up.

His clothes were torn and his cape tattered, his armor was dented and scratched. He surveyed they area and looked at the extent of the damage. He was awed by its incredible destruction. <That blast must have come from a truly powerful vampire. Why would someone so strong waste their lives in such a manner?> He thought. <If the goal was to destroy me then they failed, but barely.> He then staggered towards Darien.


"I'm fine!" Darius tried to say but it came out as only a whisper. With more effort he then said "I just need to feed. I will be fine. Let us find some humans."

Leon hesitated for a second before allowing Reina and Athena to lead him away. He felt a strong anger bubble up to the surface of his thoughts. <To leave now, when Darius will be along shortly...Is very wise, Aldoux.>

He clenched the hand Reina wasn't holding into a strong fist. He slowly released it, and with it went his irrational anger. He carefully put his hand into his pocket and drew out a small copper coin which he dropped onto the ground.

<Darius, take this copper coin as a token. It is my guarantee that we will meet once more and I will use all my strength to strike you down for a once well-loved country. The years I spent wandering have given me the patience needed to bide my time until finally all my years waiting will culminate into a single perfect moment in which you are destroyed...But until then...take this copper for a token.>

Leon walked speedily with Athena and Reina. <Athena,> he thought, not wanting Reina to listen in. <Do we have any clue where we are going? Rian promised to lead us... I do not wish to alarm your sister, but I haven't got a plan...>

 

<Leon, it's alright, I have a plan for a change. Just trust me.> Athena thought to him.

She gently gripped Reina's hand to reassure herself that she was still able to. She felt weird but she refused to pass that feeling along with the message. She had to think as if she felt full of strength and confidence so as not to alarm Leon or her sister. She smiled at both of them then thought, <Leon, is it okay that my sister has taken us from the fight?>

 

Roneri looked at them all. They were almost tiring.
Just listen to them... She thought.
"You all talk to much..." She said, as she began to chase after them, but then Michael's sword got in her way. She took a few steps back and hissed.
She looked at them as they left, "I'll see you later." She said, "I guarantee it." She looked at them, pure anger on her face.
Humans are such pests. Almost like bugs... She thought to herself, No matter when how many times you squash them, they always come back with new friends. She looked at the remaining with more of an arrogant streak, "Well. Are you going to run as well, or stay and fight me?" She asked, getting ready to fight.

<Leon, is it okay that my sister has taken us from the fight?>

Leon gave a wry smile. <Is it okay...No, not okay, but right...There's a crucial difference. It's right for us to be away from that battle.>

Leon gently stole his hand back from Reina's almost vicelike grip. "I'm going to bring up the rear. Could be that there are more surprises hereabouts. If not the Vampire King or one of his minions, then maybe something else that we've yet to meet and comprehend. If you need me, I'll be there."

Leon gave both of his wrists a small flick, sending two throwing knives into his waiting hands.

 

Raziel walked behind Roneri and said

"We don't need to fight right now. We should go look for Darius. W won't be kuch good for him injured or dead."

Then he looked at Michael with fierce look and said.

"You should be going now, that you should. Please leave with them."

 

Roneri looked at him. She wrinkled her nose. She looked at the two, "Consider yourselves lucky." She said, disappearing into the shadows once again.

She left with Raziel following close behind.
She walked back to the top level of the city and back the the building where she had left from earlier. No one was anywhere near it. She looked around. She could still smell Darius still. And the scent was strong.

She looked back to Raziel, "We should hurry and find him. Even if he is alive, even he can't just walk out of an attack like that." She turned her back to him and began to walk.

 

Rian blinked then grinned, "So you can prove useful." she said to Michael as the vampires left. "Nonetheless I don't need your protection, so just leave me alone!"

With that said, she walked over to Leon. She gritted her teeth in indecision. "Damn you..."

"Grr..Fine! Listen, I don't like what you did to that girl, but...I did promise to guide you so I will. I know these tunnels like the back of my hand, in fact I've lived down here by myself for the most part of my life." Rian said to him, and started walking past them. "Follow me..."

Michael watched as their attackers fled, most likely fearing he would take their miserable little lives away from them.
"Heh..." He then raised his nose to the air and sniffed a few times.
"Hmm... Seems as though Darius wasn't killed by the blast after all... His pungent aroma has made it down here... Athough he's weak... He'd better get stronger... otherwise he won't make much of a meal..." The last part he said under his breath. Then, noticing the others were leaving without him, he ran after them.
"So you're just going to leave me back there?" he called after them. "After I was kind enough to not kill any of you, and then offered to protect you? Well, you're not going to get rid of me that easily..."
<After all, I might need you all later on... Who knows what secrets Darius will be hiding... Or how much I'll need to feed once I become a god...>

 

Luceid Landon stares blankly at the sky, his eyebrows just slightly curved over the deep crimson irises encasing ebony pupils. A lifeless, twisted cigarette hangs between his lips, ashes falling from it to the pale flesh of his slender chin before rolling off, the tip of the cigarette, much near to the filter, burning like embers of a hearth. He rests with his hands behind his head, fingers intwined through his hair, artificially colored strands to match his eye color. He doesn't seem to really care what condition his already wrinkled and dirty clothes got in from lying in the alley that he had decided to stop in. He hardly took notice of anything in the alley, such as dumpsters, fire escapes that were probably only used by teenagers to sneak out to see their friends, and even a manhole leading down into the local sewer system.

Taking a drag from the cigarette, Luceid spits it up into the air, causing it to spin and land next to his head, still lit for the moment. His black backpack and guitar rest against the alley wall next to him, left behind out of his way when he had decided to take a break.

"Bloody hell," he murmured quietly to himself. When he really tried to think about it, he hadn't the slightest clue WHY he was even there. Was probably the reasoning behind why he stopped thinking about it and went on about his other thoughts. He felt relieved to find a place free of the hassles of people and daily life. Not that he much dealed with the likes of that any way. He did as he pleased, when he pleased, where he pleased. At least, that's how he liked to think it. All in all, he was just another, average human. At least, that's how he liked to think it.

"S'bloody quiet," he murmured again to himself, lowering his lids over the crimson eyes, letting out a soothed sigh as he tilted his head to the side, as far as it would reach, until he heard the loud sound of bones cracking, sent echoing through the narrow alley.

Leon suddenly raised his head. He sensed something. <What is that? It's so...familiar...like a mother to her child...I don't understand why I didn't notice before!>

Leon looked around once, then he knew which direction he had to follow. "I can't stay here..."

Leon glanced once more at Athena. He did not make eye contact with any of the others. <Athena, I'll explain later...>
He kept the second part of his thought to himself. <When I know just what the hell is going on here myself.>

Leon began to run through the corridors of the labyrinth, not leaving any room for discussion. A few moments later, the darkness lightened to the twilight of the outside. <I'm nearly there...Sorry, Athena, Reina, Rian, and even you, Michael...This is something I must do.>

He climbed up through the sewer and pushed open the manhole cover. He gazed upon Luceid with wonder. "Hvem er du at jeres lugt kan fejlagtigt nemlig hendes?"

 

Luceid leaned his head back to gaze at Leon with a blank expression. He didn't respond to the question. Instead, he merely rolled over into his stomach and slowly pushed himself to feet. Running his hands over his clothes a few times, he gave a yawn, one that must have been forced due to what he was.

"Popeye said it best... 'I am what I am and that's all that I am'," he said rather matter-of-factly with a shrug of his shoulders. He then blinks, curiously, arching a brow at this stranger as his head tilts curiously to the side. "And just who in the bloody hell are you? Why, the nerve of ya' asking me who the bloody hell I am when I don't even bloody know who the hell you are... you got some guts, why I oughta..."

The rest turned into quiet mumbling, seemingly just random nonsense. He stepped over to gather up his things, realizing this wasn't the place to be if he wanted peace and quiet.

"And t'think, I bloody thought this'd be one of the few places I could go where bloody people wouldn't bother me. Damn it all to bloody hell."

Of course, he sounded more disappointed than angry.

 

"Then you yourself don't hear the sound of pain, do you?"

Setsaki walked out of a shadow, for he had been there for a while.

"Smoking? At such a young age, its un-healthy." Setsaki said as he lit his own cigarette. "So, Wer sind Sie? Was machen Sie hier?"

Setsaki looked at his then said, "Whoops, Sorry, who are you and what are you doing here?"

Michael watched as Leon ran off for some unreadily apparent reason.
<Times like this I wish I hadn't killed that one vampire who had telepathy instead of devouring him... Jeez...>
"Well folks, should we follow him, or leave him to his own devices...? I vote we follow..." <Because I don't want him getting killed yet> "Just in case he's attacked by any unfriendly vampires or Yamamorii."
He then looked over at Rian.
<Hmm... I wonder why she's so against vampires when she herself is one, even if only half... Either that or she was turned while having PMS... I feel sorry for the one that turned her if that's the case...>

OOC: About that last thought... Inside joke. Oh yes, you know what I speak of, MT...

 

Raziel followed Roneri and said "So that's Darius's scent."

He felt weird as they ran in Darius's direction. He had the sense of a great power that he felt familiar with. He seemed to take a liking to the company of Roneri. He hoped it would last a long time.

As they approached Darius, they ran faster. <Who is that with Darius?>

 

Luceid eyed the new-comer cautiously out of the corner of his eye, but what was once caution quickly faded to distaste and a lack of amusement.

"Bloody hell... this the time of the night they all come out of the bloody wood-works?" he mutters almost bitterly to himself with a sigh. He reaches into the chest pocket of his dirty, wrinkled collar-shirt to pull free a disfigured cigarette with a lighter. He took the process of placing it between his lips gently and lighting it almost pain-stakingly slowly before snapping the lighter shut and pocketing it again.

"I"m here because I want to be. I am who I am. S'as simple as that. If you were there for any length of time, I figured that much would've sank in, but then again, I guess I coulda' been mistaken, ya? Well don't that just beat all, had to come across the two most dense people in existence. God must really hate me," he said with a sigh, taking a long, unneeded drag from the cigarette.

"Yeah... as I said... all coming outta' the bloody wood-works," he commented with another light-hearted sigh, seemingly without a care, moving on his way towards the end of the alley, backpack worn on one shoulder, carrying the guitar by the bottom of the neck.

<O, familiar stranger!>

Leon spared a glance at Setsaki. <He has a way of appearing in the most interesting situations...>

Leon turned to Luceid and offered his hand. "You might know me as Leontes, young one...Though your demeanor is that of a no-nonsense artisan, I think we may have something to offer each other. As to coming out of the woodwork...I sensed you. Do you understand?"

 

Setsaki watched, almost amused by these two, "Hello, Leon."

He said as he took another puff of his cigarette. "Long time no see, but I actually see you a lot."

"As for you," Setsaki turned towards Luceid. Just as he did this, Setsaki sank into a shadow and regenerated right out of a shadow right behind Luceid. "You are too arrogant, you have no value on your life or anyone elses. Trust me when I say this, child, value your life, because it only comes once."

"I am living proof that you should value it. I sold my life and soul for eternal life."

As Setsaki talked to Luceid, he remembered back to the cathedral and saw his spirit there. "YOU!?" Setsaki suddenly screamed at Luceid, "What right have you to take my past!?"

 

Luceid stopped in his tracks, turning to stare blankly at the two, the cigarette hanging limp from between his lips, his eyes slightly narrowed, looking obviously quite unamused and quite annoyed. He offered a glance towards Leon, nodding his head lightly, before looking back to Setsaki.

"You're a strange one, y'know that?" he said, with a slight smirk. With a half-hearted sigh, Luceid shook his head slowly, clicking his tongue lightly in an almost 'tsk, tsk' manner as he shook his finger from side to side. "Sheesh, with someone like you with as much time on your bloody hands as you got, I'd think y'd be doing something more bloody constructive with your time, ya?"

With a sigh and an absent-minded wave of his hand, he continued to shake his head. "But, I've learned to no expect so much from people anymore. Saves me the trouble of mocking them afterwards. Now... if you're done with your inane rantings..."

That was all he said, before offering an almost overly-polite nod of his head.

 

Rian stopped and stared where Leon had run off to, "Okay...that was unexpected..."

Then noticing that Michael was looking at her, she glared at him. "What?! Like you have any say in this matter!"

"I can't believe this! A few moments ago I was a vampire hunter, a person who would rather die than to see a vampire walk away alive...now...I'm in the company of two vampires and i'm not killing them..whats the matter with me..." Rian thought angrily to herself, she then remembered Reina...she was the only human there now and wasn't Athena severely injured moments ago?

Making her decision, she walked up to Athena.

"Listen, I know you are going to completely disagree with me, but I don't think you should go after Leon. Here..." She took out a dirty piece of paper from her coat pocket and knelt on the floor with it. There she muttered an incantation and moved her finger over the paper's surface. Blue glowing lines appeared which formed into a map of the sewers.

"Follow this to my lair. Its a large cavern that was ignored when making this sewer system, no one knows about it except me since it's practically hidden behind a rock wall." Rian said as she moved her finger,"Stay there. If not for your sake, than for your sister's. Stay there until you've rested and feel at full strength again, I feel as though there are more battles ahead and a vampire that still has some humanity left is not too bad an ally."

She stood with the map and handed it to Athena. "Just go, If you're still worried about him, don't be. I'll go and check on Leon..." then she scowled, "and I guess I'll take this guy along as well."

With that, she quickly walked away from them, "Oh, and be careful, there are creatures older than vampires that dwell down here."

Then, without giving time for discussion, Rian took off in the direction where Leon ran off to. She slowly letting her vampiric side resurface again, to give her the speed she needed to catch up with Leon.

"Hey, Mike! You coming or what?" she called back at Michael, without even looking back.
