Setsaki embraced Reina as big and as lovingly as he could. "Yes, and I have found you." He gave her a gentle kiss on her forehead and then embraced her even harder.

Setsaki sniffed...

"We should go in, if we linger, I believe the ambush will be larger."

Setsaki showed them into his house, still holding Reina's hand.

 

Rian got to the place as fast as possible, using her powers. When she arrived her eyes were glowing red, but then she quickly pushed the dark power back, and ended up panting and sweating. Her eyes were still remained the color red however, as she looked around for the kid.

"Reina?" She panted when she saw some people enter a house, waiting to see if anyone responded to it.

 

Felicia offered Setsaki and Reina a smile and a nod, then followed silently.

When they entered the house, she set her calm gaze on Reina.

"Your anger is well founded, child, but please..." Her voice became soft. "...try to stay calm. Anger can be holy, but it is so often dark and evil..." To Setsaki she said, "Shenjuki priests pray for us and our success day and night. For my part, I plan on never leaving the light. And also--" This she whispered to him, "Do not lose faith. Light can dispel shadow."

"Reina?" She panted when she saw some people enter a house, waiting to see if anyone responded to it.

Felicia turned to look out the window, but couldn't make out much more than shadows.

"Someone calls."

 

"Take your empty threats elsewhere. You know as well as I do that you're not going to destroy me." Darius sneered. "If you destroy me now the burden of Kingship falls on you." Darius tried to escape by reminding Leon of what he really was. "Why do you side with these weaklings? Let's put the past behind us. Let it be prologue to a new age where Vampires reign supreme!"

Deep in the recesses of Darius's mind, a voice manifested itself. <Do it. Destroy me. End it now.> The voice was faint, and Darius tried to drown it out. <No, it cannot be, you died, Darius, I drove you out.> The voice repeated, rising in crescendo. <DO IT! END IT! DO IT NOW!>

"DESTROY ME!"

 

"DESTROY ME!"

Roneri stopped. She looked up into the night sky, hoping to see some thing. She looked back to Vincent, "Hurry, Now!"
She began to run to where she heard the voice.
The couldn't have been him...could it.... she thought to herself.

 

Vincent scowled and muttered to himself, "Don't tell me you're getting weak, Darius?"

With that said, he moved with lightning quick speed to the scene...

Leon shuddered, as he realized that Darius was right. <If I destroy him...I would...I would have to deal with that again...Is it cowardly of me not to destroy him anyway, and face the consequences?>

And then, Darius said he wanted Leon to join him. Leon shook his head vehemently. But then again...<Why not? Why shouldn't I join him? NO. I won't join him...>

Then, Darius seemed to struggle with himself. "DESTROY ME!"

Leon was shocked into silence by this. It was Darius, the real Darius, he recognized his voice. It was a voice without malice. He dropped his dagger, and it landed on the street with a clatter. "D...Darius?"

 

Raziel could not believe that Darius himself was struggling with his mind.

"Darius, forget the past, it will only come back to destroy you," Raziel said. "I still have so much to learn from you. Don't go off and lose your grip on things. Now come on, snap out of it."

 

Setaki looked out the window, took of his sunglasses and closed his black eye. Then, he had like red night vision.

"Our guest resides on the building closet to this roof. Should not we give him a proper welcome?"

Setsaki put back on his sunglasses and looked be at Felicia and Reina for approval.

Darius stumbled away from Leon. His vampire side thought his humanity had been destroyed by the years of destruction and evil, but he had been wrong, and his humanity had conserved its strength for one last stand, and took Darius by surprise. He bent down and grabbed Leon's dagger. "If you can't finish me off then I'll do it myself."

Darius' human side was now struggling to remain in control. "Before I go I must tell you, I only meant to protect you... It was the former King, he poisoned me. I couldn't allow you to join him. Remember what he did to you, what I did to you. I'm sorry for what I did and what I'm about to do." Darius brought the blade to his own neck, and looked Leon in the eyes. "You would be a far better King than I could ever hope to be."

As he was about to finish himself off, his hand started to pull away. Inside Darius, his human and vampire sides waged a bitter war. The blade started to move slowly back towards his neck. As Darius's vampire side gained control the blessings on the blade took effect, burning Darius's hand. The pain from the blade intensified as the vampire side gained control. The human side started to wane in strength but still persisted, the blade drawing ever closer to Darius's neck. With the blade barely piercing the skin, the hand swung back flinging the blessed dagger away. The human side no longer offered any resistance.

"Aaahhhhhhh." Darius let out a wail the extended exposure; the holy blade caused an immense pain to Darius. On the palm of Darius's right hand, the symbol on the dagger had imprinted itself into his hand. On his palm was a scar in the shape of a cross.

 

Roneri stood a few yards away from Darius.
She had seen it. His human side nearly killing him. It was hardly believable.
She tried not to show her fear by standing straight. She walked closer to Darius as she usually would.
"Are.." She took a deep breath, trying not to surprised, "Are you alright?"
She kept her distance, knowing that he woudn't accept her help.

 

Raziel looked on with astonishment... "Darius, that's it, gain control. The blade wounds will heal but the human side won't, so keep it under control."

"Roneri, hurry, I don't know if he needs you or not."

 

Felicia nodded to Setsaki. "Yes." She rested a hand on Reina's shoulder as if to reassure the girl.

 

Setaki opened the door, when he did, he yelled out. "Welcome to my humble home stranger. Please, make yourself at home. You must have some sort of message if you came here. What may I ask, do you need?"

 

Rian, her eyes unknowingly still of the color crimson, slowly approached the house.

"I'm looking for Reina! Her sister sent me." she said still out of breath...she didnt notice how her vampire side was becoming harder to control. (*hint* she looks alot like Vincent right about here, except for the evil look of death *hint* )

Vincent scowled at the sight before him, angry at Darius' weakness. His crimson eyes flashed to Leon and he quickly moved to him and lifted him up by the collar.

"What did you do to him, you worthless creature?!" he snarled at him and raised his other clawed hand, ready to strike Leon dead.

Leon stared blankly at Vincent, seeming to stare through him. Then, he turned his head sideways to avoid Vincent's gaze. "He did it to himself. The blessed scar will remain."

It was the last thing he said before going off on a tangent, this time, mostly to himself. "He asked for forgiveness for everything that he's done. I want to give him forgiveness, but for years, my goal has been his destruction. I let that chance slip away. She will not be avenged, they will not be avenged, because the avenger is weak. I must destroy him...he asked for forgiveness...but I still must destroy him."

Leon's eyes clouded over, growing dull.

 

Setsaki glared at Rian with eyes fit to kill, his black eye turned blood red. As almost to say, If that isnt the reason you're here, plan to die. For no one will harm Reina.

"Well, come in, why don't you? That way you can explain things."

 

Rian looked at Setsaki with suspicion, she remembered him from earlier when spying on Leon. He was the one who spoke in those confusing riddles or whatever...plus he was giving her a look she didn't like.

"All right..." She panted, she couldn't figure out why she was so freaking tired. But none the less, she walked in as though nothing bothered her. "Reina?"

Vincent scoffed, "What a bunch of dramatic nonsense."

He then threw him to the side.

"You're weak...if you wanted to destroy him, then you would've done it by now! Pathetic human emotions..." Vincent said, then walked over to him.

He kneeled down and grabbed his throat, his other hand raised, the steel claws glinting dangerously.

An evil grin appeared on the vampire's face, "Now you die...

Leon made no moves to protect himself, but his lips moved, forming the words that Vincent had formed just a few moments ago. "Time...to...die..."

His eyes flashed a dull red, and all of a sudden, there were two daggers in his hands, and he slashed at Vincent, wriggling from his grip. Then he stood around, looking. "I...smell...blood."

His eyes closed in a quick blink, now fully red, shining, looking like liquid, like blood. Where were the grey-red eyes of before?

Inside of himself, Leon struggled to send one word to Athena. <Trance!>

Vincent jumped back, his shirt ripped from Leon's sudden attack. The wounds quickly healed however as he smirked at the newly transformed Leon.

"So there is vampire in you...glad to see it out in the open. Now what will you do?" Vincent said, his stance and claws ready.
