((OOC: Ahh, if Vincent only knew ...))

Leon slowly wiped his daggers on a scrap of cloth, and put them back in their sheaths up his arms. He turned to Darius. "Darius...teacher...I've...I...am finished my research about the...blood...fiends."

Leon spoke haltingly, pausing between each word. "Darius, what would...you have...me...do?"

Leon seemed to be transported again back to long ago and far-away, back to when Darius was the Regent of his country, and his teacher, his mentor, not his tormentor. And he seemed prepared to do anything Darius asked of him. "Study...?"

Vincent looked at Leon with slight surprise, but when he relaxed, there was a slight frown on his face.

"Hmpf...you'd think he would make up his blasted mind...though it looks like his mind is gone all together." Vincent said, annoyed.

He then looked at Darius to see whether if he was back to normal or was just as crazy as this fool.

 

When Rian entered the house, Felicia was prepared to give her a faint smile. But when the priestess saw her eyes, she placed a firmer grip on Reina's shoulder and gave Rian a cold stare.

"Setsaki, do you know her?" she asked flatly, not taking her eyes off Rian.

 

Setsaki had a little laugh, "No, but, I wouldnt allow her in my house if I wasn't prepared to defend you. I won't let anything happen to Reina." He held her hand a little tighter to get her attention. When he did, he smiled at her.

"So, why are you here?"

 

*Athena*
<Trance.> Leon said to her in their mind speak.
She looked up and saw that Leon was struggling with himself and even though she was struggling as well she made her way to his side and slipped her hand into his. Her humanity won out at that moment and she said, in mind speak, to Leon, <Be strong, I will not abandon you... I will not perish if you can stay strong with me.>

She gazed at the others around them and said, "Leon may not be completely in his right mind so I won't let you corrupt him."

*Reina*
"Rian, are you okay?" Reina asked. then remembering Rian said her sister had sent her, "What do you mean my sister sent you?"

 

Rian glared slightly at Setsaki...Like she would go so as to hurt a child...

She knelt down to Reina and smiled, "Your sister told me to find you...she said that you thought she was dead, but she's not. Not at the moment anyways. Darius and his goon were trying to force her darkside to take over, but I intervened. Leon was there too and I think is fighting with Darius himself...but I managed to injure the bastard, so I think Leon's okay. But the important thing is that your sister is still alive, Reina."

Leon's hand tightened instinctively around Athena's. There were words in his head, but he didn't know what they meant...they just weren't getting through to him. It was like being inside a prison. His mind was a prison.

<Let me out!> he shouted, unsure of whether he was now speaking English, Danish or something else altogether.

Outside of this prison, Leon gripped Athena's hand more tightly. "Merrill...you're here..."

 

*Athena*
Athena heard Leon then she gasped. She couldn't have heard him right. Who was this Merrill? She quickly shook her mind of it and said to him, "Leon... it's Athena.... Athena...." She could feel tears welling up but she stopped them and said to the other vampires, "What have you done to him?"

*Reina*
"Rian... she's alive?" Reina whispered, she then looked up at Setsaski and asked, "Can it be true is she really alive... No...I left her with vampires... Leon isn't strong enough to help her... I have to go back... We gotta save our sister, right, Setsaki... or would it be wiser to wait until I've gotten stronger?"

 

"Whoa! Relax, kid. They were practically retreating when I left, I'm sure Leon can take care of things." Rian said, not really believing it but said to calm the child down.

She then looked at Felicia, "Who are you? In fact...(she turns back to Reina) what happened to you before I got here? How did you meet these people?"

 

Judging from the way Reina wasn't afraid of Rian, Felicia felt a bit more at ease. She had let go of Reina when Rian began talking to her.

Faced with a question, she crossed her arms and, no longer glaring, said, "Felicia de Lune." Remembering what Setsaki had called her (and remembering that she liked it and thought it sounded good), she added, "Second daughter of light."

 

Setsaki looked into the distance. "Yes, we should go find her, but not now, she still lives. I can smell her in the air. But don't worry," Setsaki knelt and rubbed her head and smiled, "We'll get Athena back, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to either of you again."

Setsaki got up and looked at Felicia and then Rian, then Reina. "Well, we should do something to prepare ourselves for the time ahead. Come, let me show you my home. Feel free to make it yours."

"Are you alright?" said Roneri.

To Darius' surprise, he felt stronger than ever. <That cursed human must have been holding me back, offering subtle resistance. But now, he is gone.>

"I appreciate your concern but I feel better than ever. With my human side completely destroyed, I have harnessed my full power."

Darius watched as two old friends fought each other. Leon's eyes flashed red, showing him that he was releasing his vampire side. He knew from experience this meant his other half, even darker than his vampire side, a half that felt no emotions, felt no mercy, no remorse, a mindless slave that felt only hatred and the desire to destroy, was being released as well. Darius waited for his opportunity, in his trance-like shell state, his mind was...open to suggestion.

"Darius...teacher...I've...I...am finished my research about the...blood...fiends. Darius, what would...you have...me...do? Study...?" Leon said.

"Hmpf...you'd think he would make up his blasted mind...though it looks like his mind is gone all together." said Vincent.

<Not totally gone. His mind is in there somewhere. Being a shell is like being in a prison, a prison with no wall, and no toilet.> Darius thought. "He's had half his vampire side drained by another vampire. He was human once, and then he became a full vampire. Now...remarkably, his human side is still present. But sometimes it goes away...and leaves this empty husk behind, half shell, half vampire and an excellent fighting machine."

"Leon may not be completely in his right mind so I won't let you corrupt him. What have you done to him?" said Athena.

"I control him now, stay out of my way and your precious lover might be returned to his usual self." He turned from Athena. "Leon, it's time for a little combat training. Come with me."

 

OOC:This is my first time posting here so i want to be integrated in so u can just through me in where needed.

IC:

In an abandoned trash-filled alley, Charliase rubbed her eyes; after running all night her body hurt so much. She hid in a corner to re-adjust her red contacts, in fear that she would be persecuted as a human. She slid down to the floor and ran her fingers across her sword and blood came across her hands.

Leon swayed drunkenly, moving forwards towards Darius and at the same time, letting go of Athena's hand. He stood up straight, and now walked with normal bearing. A King must have strength as well as wit, honour as well as cunning, and above all else, he must be able to trust his vassals.

The red in his eyes seemed to have subsided a bit, and they were no longer wholly red. Instead, the iris was blood-red, and the pupil had returned to normal.

Leon came to rest before Darius, standing stock-still.

 

Raziel decided to walk around the city to see other parts of it and maybe make some new vampires for Darius's army. He wandered into the abandoned parts of the town when he got a feeling that some one was here. He jumped on to the roof of a building and looked around.

 

Charliase heard a small patter. "God, I might as well just go out there," she muttered to herself. Charliase crawled slyly and quietly on her knees to the center of the alleyway. She heard a pitter again. She pulled out her sword and said, "I know you're out there. Show yourself. I dare you."

 

*Athena*
Athena moved cautiously forward and stood near Leon, not next to him but near him enough. She looked at Darius straight in the eyes and whispered, "If he is coming with you then I go where he goes."
She then lowered her eyes so they wouldn't see that she had begun to tear and thought to Leon, <Leon, I'm here for you. I won't leave you so don't you leave me.>

 

Vincent smirked, "Great, two pawns for the price of one."

He then walked over to Darius, "Long time, no see. And it seems as though I missed much...So what are you planning to do with this creature?"

Rian nodded to Felicia when she intrduced herself, then looked at Setsaki. "Setsaki, right? Well, I'm Rian and I can't stay. I saw Leon and Athena in trouble so I helped out, but now that Reina's safe I have to deal with something...though I'm not quite sure what exactly..."

It was true, Rian was on edge for some reason like there was a danger nearby that she couldn't see. Her heart pumped faster than normal and her slightly glowing eyes darted from place to place. This behavior had started after that encounter in the church...

"I have to go."

 

Setsaki smiled, "Don't worry, its okay, I think you might come back."

Setsaki let Rian leave his house.

He turned back to Reina and Felicia and said, "Would either of you like to rest?"

 

Roneri just nodded. She looked around, ignoring how odd that was. She looked at Vincent and wrinkled her nose.
It's none of his business... she thought. She turned her back to the two, watching the city. Maybe there would be more vampires out there. Other useful vampires.
