    my first RPG had to be legend of zelda a link to the past. It was the best when it came out.

    What was your first traditional RPG? I personally feel Zelda is not an RPG at all... it's more action/adventure. No leveling, rwal time combat... those are the two biggest RPG element in my mind....

    I can't exactly remember but I know it was for the NES. It was either FF3 or Zelda: Link to the Past. I don't think I ever beat either one of them, granted I still played with legos and they were more interesting at the time.

    My first ever RPG ever played was Lufia on SNES
    bloody awesome game
    Zelda on the 64 was by far one of my old time number one classic games :D totally awesome!!!

    Um...my first RPG was....Super Mario RPG I beleive., Hey Yuffie_San, I own Dragon Warrior 3 for Gameboy Color, its a cool game.

    My first was FF7 and I was highly impressed by it. Games like Baldur's Gate and Diablo II are alright but they don't appeal to me that much. Deus Ex was also a good RPG I played although technically it is a shoot 'em up.

    mine was Kingdom Hearts 4 PS2, then i went on to FFX. Now i'm lookin for other FF games.

    Super Mario RPG for me, that was one hell of a game. It was fun, showed a different game of mario gaming, and had an ''Ok'' storyline.

    I played Final Fantasy, on loan from a good friend of mine, when I was six. That was the first RPG that I was able to play by myself.
    I was exposed to the genre at the age of four or five by my older sister, who played a text-only game on my uncle's computer. I think it was called "Wizard's Castle" or something like that. We really played it together, but I couldn't read back then, so I didn't contribute much. That was really my first RPG. It was a funny game. You could eat the monsters you killed. "You spend an hour eating an orc-wich."

    If you're a smart DW player, you'll spend your first sample of gold on a club. Sticks are crap.

    My first RPG experience would have been Gateway to Apshai on the good ol' Commodore-64. That startling spooky sound it would make when scary enemies appeared in the newly explored room would scare the beejesus outta me sometimes.

    My first "console-style" RPG was Final Fantasy. Man, did I ever drool over that game for a full week. Made sure it was the gift I got for my birthday, and played it to death.

    And after experiencing a sequel to it (FF4, then dubbed FF2 to us blinded North American fans), I couldn't believe how much it had progressed in one game - little did I know it took 3 games to get there, not one.

    RPGs in the past that I "had to have" after trying or hearing them:
    • Final Fantasy (hazy memory here...I was about 9 or 10)
    • Final Fantasy II (IV)
    • Final Fantasy VII (dropped a load of cash upgrading my old PC to run that version...)
    • Final Fantasy IX (finished in one weekend. Bought it the day after)
    • Hero's Quest (Quest for Glory) (oh, was it glorious!)
    • Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete (after that one eye-catching magazine ad, I was dying to play it...didn't disappoint, even with a hefty price tag)
    • Neverwinter Nights (followed its life for 4 years of its 5 year development)

    My First

    My first RPG was Phantasy Star 3 for the Sega Genesis. And that started a whole new world. After that I had an epiphany and I now love and worship video games.
