Excellent post, Nephilim_X. While everyone wants to be able to say they could be cold-blooded killers if they wanted to, it doesn't usually work out they out. When I played football in high school I had trouble just running into people (In fact, I got several weird looks from opposing players when the play was over and I apologized to them). Then again, maybe we have a Jeffrey Dahmer on this board or something. Who knows.

Jeffrey Dahmer was a pretty nasty guy. A killer, cannibal, and a homosexual control-freak. He stuffed his fridge with body parts to be made into meals and snacks. And when his family found the body parts, he'd pass em off as "roadkill" that he was simply experimenting with. And in jail he enjoyed strips of flesh from the chest of his cellmate.

And yeah, so many people like to threaten to kill someone, but when it comes down to thinking about the first step in doing it, they back out. Like after watching Kill Bill, we walked out of the cinema with me saying outloud "I wanna sword now" and that I felt like killing someone (not seriously, but not sarcastically either). One of my friends, who likes Japanese swords way more than I do, was fairly shocked at hearing me! I didn't know why someone (him in that case) who watches violent movies, plays violent videogames, is all into Japanese warrior history, likes swords, gets into fights, punches/breaks things, swears and picks fights a lot, and thinks Kill Bill's violence was cool, would still freak out A LOT at the thought of real killing. I mean, it's understandable for someone who doesn't like violence period, but for a big, mean, macho, savage guy to say that... the contradiction/irony is the thing that upsets me. Sure yeah, he has morals so he knows that actual killing is a bad thing, but still yet.

As for "killing for fun," keep in mind that not every forum-poster is as mature as everyone else. We got some crazy kids running around here, posting/voting whatever they feel like.

I am a soldier, and I still think there is that moment of hestitation when we are ordered to pull the trigger.

I feel I would only use deadly force if there were no other option. I have been trained very well with a rifle. Believe me, if I wanted to kill a target, it would be dead. More then likely, I would take out the targets knees. Sharpshooters can have that kind of choice and still do their job.

As far as the members who voted "Kill for Fun", I also need to agree with Neph on this one and call you out. No one in their right mind kills for fun.

    Those are my thoughts,

    Victor

He kidnapped little boys almost exclusively and tied them up, constantly molesting them (often after he had killed them as well). Not a pretty picture.

Humans are also the only ones who can build a skyscraper, land members of the species on the moon or create an amazing device like a scanner.

My God, do you judge every species by bad things it can do?

Hmmm... not for fun, nor if ordered to for i never intend to join the ranks of mindless killers (Soldiers remember the quote "A good soldier knows when his orders are bullshit") I have been trained for *Reads Tae kwon do oath booklet* "For self defense & protection of the weak" If i defend myself/someone else & in the outcome the enemy dies... it's there fault for attacking (As a Fawklands vetern told me... close friend of a family member) Mind you i rarely get jumped/attacked... unlike my friends when there not with me... most peculiar. Anyways i hope it never happens (No ****)

Billy277 explained it pretty well, although I don't remember the victims being lil boys. The tv documentary I saw said that Dahmer wanted control of his victims, and that he was gay, so his victims were males. Part of gaining control of them was raping them, but that wasn't enough, so he killed them. And in the final stages, he decided that eating his victims was the best way to gain total control of them. So he didn't eat cuz he was or hungry or enjoyed the taste, but simply cuz his mind was all whack.

Ok i change that part... I just tend to cut corners in explanations/rants -_-. I admit there are some good soldiers, some arent even there to engage the enemy... i was refering more to the "Hick with gun" kinda soldier which does tend to outnumber the good ones.

Prove it. Of the men and women in uniform I have known, the only "hicks" tend to be people who just joined, and that aspect is beaten out of them (sometimes literally) very quickly. Not even the Texans I know, be they civilian or in the military, are "hicks with guns".

I do not need to prove it... for that would be straying far away from the question (Which i have answered) which i do beleive is an infringment of the rules.

In other words you can't but are content to stay with your blatent generalization because the rules may protect you. Wonderful.

One who is looking for an arguement would say that... but if it bothers you so much i'll take down the statement. But enough about this pointless disagreement, the admins have enough to deal with.

The rules also say one should feel free to ask someone to support their argument/claims, and that opinions are worthless here until backed by fact.
