Nuria glared at the bars, then at the walls, then at everyone, then at Seyra....

She leaned against a wall and glared at the wall opposite, her arms crossed. "This is her fault....I know it!" she thought angrily to herself.

Kael watched as everyone made some sort of settled down, his eyes also like a cat, but more because of the darkness of the cell than his anger. For some reason he didn't care what was going on, like he knew everything will work out in the end.

Suddenly, Val's music filled the area and Kael looked at her. After moment of hesistation, he sat down next to her, where he remained silent.

He was still bleeding from a cut on his forehead and his body still ached from when he was slammed against the wall by the Neliathan. But he did not let it show and it wasn't something that would go away by itself anyways.

Ariana smiled when she heard the music, "Sounds nice..." Turning her head, she noticed Sin there.

"Wait, you're wounded. You should've went with the healers." Ariana said to her in concern.

 

Bara sat silently just off to one side of the cell, his gaze toward the wall, a small flame bouncing between his hands. He was in a bad mood at the moment and plainly wanted some answers. After a while of just tossing the ball, he formed another in his other hand, one settled in each hand and only then turned his attention from the wall to look down at the small glows of light near his fingers tips.

With a quick twist of his hands, he rolled the balls toward his finger tips themselves and muttered softly to himself, thinking for a moment, searching one. After using a little magic of his own, one fire ball seemed to erupt and take of his hand, turning out to be a hark of some type which swooped around the dark cell. The bird flew close to all other occupents to give him a little light to see their faces more clearly. It was only a glimpse of eyes or parts of faces before it moved on. It made an entire two circles around the room before landing lightly on a hand when he raised it to allow it to perch. By then he had formed something with his other hand and it turned out to be a minature dragon curled close to his side. Both fire creatures lip up parts of his body and when he lifted the hawk slightly , seeming to examine a wing, the fire lit up hs features, though his eyes were blank, his upper lip was curled in a slight snarl.

After finishing his examination of the wing he set the hawk down on a raised knee, fingers lightly brushing the fire creatures back, rubbing the snout of the dragon beside him also.

 

Val stopped and turned to Kael.

"Your bleeding...here," Val said taking out a white cloth with pink and silver embroidery at the corner. She patted it against his wound.

"Whya ren't we going to save Val!?!" Amras asked impatiently as he paced in front of Lesien who was sitting down adn thinking.

"Becuase those were royal guards...if you think that you can break into teh dangeon and save her with only my help then we'll go," Lessien said calmly.

The two sat there was darkness began to fall upon teh day.

"We'll figure something out, and until then Val will take care of herself," Lessien said confidently.

 

Kael winced and stiffened at the touch.

It wasn't because of the pain of the wound, but becasue of the contact. It had been years since he had let someone touch him that way since he mostly travelled alone and even before that, at his village, he kept to himself mostly and distanced himself from everyone, even his aunt.

Feeling far too uncomfortable, he gently grabbed Val's hand and lowered it. "It's nothing...don't bother," he said quietly.

"What am I doing? I shouldn't even be sitting next to her...." he thought to himself, but remained where he was nonetheless.

Nuria glared at the passing flaming creatures, then at their creator.

"Hmphf, show off..."

 

Val smiled and gave teh cloth to him. She looked aruond in teh darkness where she could barely make out figures of people sitting. She saw the flaming creatures and admired them. Then she sighed adn went on with playing her flute.

 

'I wonder if i can use my daggers to hit that thing over there... yes and disable the bars... and then maybe use a smoke ball for a quick ecape...' Sin was busy thinking, not paying much attention to what was around her.

"Wait, you're wounded. You should've went with the healers." Ariana said to her in concern.

"Hmm? I'm wounded?" she began. She then looked back to her side and sweatdroipped. "Teehee, i seemingly forgot about it. ^^; oh well, I heal fast, I've gotten worser wounds than this, because of my inventions."

She smiled showing it was okay and pokd the wound gingerly. "Hmmm... that thing got me good...."

 

Kael stared at the cloth as he felt it with his fingers. His mind was a jumble of emotions, but he quickly supressed them as he let his attention move elsewhere, the cloth still in his hand.

"Well it doesn't look good." Ariana said, still worried slightly, but then said, to make some sort of conversation, "Your inventions? Well, I doubt they're any good than Elian inventions." She looked back out the bars, "That machine over there powering the bars is state of the art. It's even covered in an invisible energy shield so no one can tamper with it..."

She sighed, "How long are they going to keep us here...Wait..." Ariana cursed at her stupidity, she was the Royal Princess of Arian, how can she act this way in this kind of situation.

She turned away from the bars and faced everyone, "Listen...I'm sorry for what's happening. I'm sure my mother has some sort of explination for her actions...but thats no excuse...you've been all treated unfairly, and I'm truly sorry."

 

Lanah, who had been in thought for a long time, shook her head at once at the Princess' comment.

"It isn't your fault," she said. "And I'm sure the Empress does have a reason for doing this." She sighed. "It's just confusing, is all."

 

Bara was silent for a while, ignoring the glare from one direction and spoke up after Lanah had, the hawk taking flight when he made a slight motion with his hands,"I don't care much for the Empresses explanation. Either she lets us out NOW. Or I burn whatever guard comes for us. I'm not stay cooped up in here with a bunch people I hardly know. I'm a Pyrian and I'm NOT going to deal with this. You all better stay out of my way."

His amber eyes with yellow flicks, narrowed, watching each face in turn before looking down at the dragon at his side, curling a finger close, a slight appearence of fire on his hand before the dragon grew a little larger, the fire hawk returning and perching on a raised knee.

 

Suddenly infuriated, Lanah turned so that Bara could be the sole receiver of her glare.

"In case you hadn't noticed, you aren't the only Pyrian here," she said harshly. "The rest of us, as well as all the others, happen to know when to shut up and when to take action. If you try to just blast your way out of here, you're going to get us killed. The Empress spared us once. I doubt she'll do it again. Just because you're a Pyrian doesn't make you better than anyone else."

Outside, Yunig sighed loudly. Not only was he angry at being left outside, he was getting tired of waiting also. He spotted Aquafina out of the corner of his eye and decided that conversation, even if it was hostile, would be better than agonizing silence.

"They took someone important to you too, huh," he said more than asked.

 

Val stopped playing her flute when she heard Lanah scolding Bara. She smiled shaking her head.

"Arguing and getting on eachother's nerves will never help us..." Val said softly looking aruond at everyone. "Now is the time to stick together. and Lanah is right, blasting our way out is not the way. Disobeying the Empress is not a good idea, and it would be nearly impossible with the security in this dungeon. If it was possible my brother would have come for me by now..."

SHe looked aruond and remembered her brother's face as he frantically looked for her in teh staidum and when she saw him as she was being taken away. I hope you are ok Lessien. Please don't come for me. Val said inside her mind and she looked down at a ring on her finger given to her by her older brother when she was younger.

 

Bara snorted,"I KNOW I'm not the only Pyrian. And I KNOW that doesn't make me better. I have my reasons for disliking others. I'm sure all of you can defend yourselves if I do react. And she might only kill me. And thats good for my part because I don't want to live under her rule. I don't really care at the moment what you all have to say about it."

He turned his gaze away, looking outside the cage, eyes narrowed, searching the different spots on the wall, falling stony silent. He hadn't done much speak until now really so he hadn't shown his temper.

 

Rhye had been silent throughout this whole situation. He was thinking. The light cast by the bars was enough to dispell all shadows within the cell itself. The Empress really knew what she was doing. She had been planning this for some time. Then, the angry outburst of the one called Bara gave him an idea.

"Everyone near the bars, I would move if I were you."

Rhye hadn't used any of his energy during the fight with the Neveks, unlike everyone else in the room. The Empress probably wasn't planning on that. He was fully charged.

He started focusing all of his power to collect all the shadows in the room and form it into a massive semi-solid creature. The focus required for such a feat was almost unbearable, but Rhye had to escape. He would not be caged, not even by the Empress.

That was surely all the power he could muster into the creature. Rhye forced it to grab the bars and pull on them...

 

Ariana quickly stood back and watched as the creature's claws took hold of the bars. Waves of light energy surged through it and tried to rip the shadow apart. However, the shadow creature was strong enough to last just long enough to bend the bars apart, creating a huge hole in the middle. Rhye's creation then vanished as the light banished it.


Ariana stood there in disbelief, "Mother's going to kill me..."

Nuria glared at Rhye and walked over to him, "Are you insane?!!! Do you have any idea what the Empress is going to do to you? To me?!!"

"But at least now we can search for answers..."Seyra said from her dark corner. She then stood and approached the bars.

"And where the hell do you think you're going? This is all your fault to begin with!" Nuria said, rounding on her.

Seyra stopped and looked at her, "You may not believe me, but I had nothing to do with those Dark-spawn. But maybe the Empress knows who is. Besides...the damage has been done, we might as well use this opportunity and talk to the Empress directly, right now."

With that she stepped through the hole, careful not to touch the still charged bars, and walked away.

Kael watched the whole event without any reaction. "So much for Elian security..."

He then looked at Val and remembered how she looked at that ring on her finger when she mentioned her brother.

Kael stood and started walking towards the gap, he paused and looked at Val, "Your brother's probably waiting for you.", he then dissappeared into the darkness as he followed Seyra.

 

Val looked at Kael as he walked by and smiled at his words. She followed him through the bars. It was pitch dark and she was so busy looking aruond and trying to make out shapes that she bumped in Kael ahead of her who had slowed down. "I'm sorry!" she said bowing over and over.

"So tell me why were waiting out here?" Amras said as Lessien and him stood in the shadows of the Imperial palace.

"Because i know they will break out. No dungeon will hold that group i am sure of it," Lessien said smiling looking at the gate of the palace contently in the night.

 

Lanah sighed, nodding at Val's comments about how hard it would be to escape. She stood back when Rhye told them to and once the shadow-creature had disappeared, she went through the gap, following Val, as this was the only person she could see and let herself be guided by.

 

Kael turned around when he was bumped from behind. With his Erthian vision, he able to see Val's outline bowing as she apologized. The sight surprised him and he smiled slightly. The smile vanished almost immediately and in the darkness no one would've seen it.

Kael reached over and grabbed her hand, "We have to be quiet..." he said simply before leading her forward."....until either that Pyrian with the temper or the Royal Bodyguard's daughter come in and most likely make a racket..." he said unemotionally.

He was able to see Seyra ahead, who was causiously moving ahead, alert for any intruders. Kael thought it was best for her to lead since Sinaletts have nightvision and she should know the way around the palace being the daughter of the Royal Advisor.

 

"Hmm?" Aquafina began, hearing someone talking to her. "Yes they did, they took my best friend Chaos with them those miserable fiends."
There was a defiante anger in her vocie, mixed with a tinge of bitterness.

Sin quickly leaped out of the way as Rhye created the dark creation. Looking at the hole in awe she smiled.
"I would never have thought of that Rhye how clever of you!" she exclaimed happily, before wlaking through the hole.
"Oh we are so gonna be killed if they find out about this..." Chaos muttered sighing as he too followd in suite.

 

Rhye decided that, since Seyra probably knew her way around the palace, following her would be a good idea. He didn't like to follow, but he figured that, again, he really had no choice. Besides, they were out of the cage, and she would probably know how to avoid most of the guards. She seemed genuinely curious as well, which made him somewhat trust her. It was as close to trusting as he got, anyway.

 

Bara followed the other group quietly, the fire dragon curled in his arms, the fire bird perched on his sholder. Both lit him with a strange faint glow that helped them to see his features better. He stayed toward the back the the group, steping carefuly and silently, his boots hardly even tapping. He had gotten used to walking silently so he wasn't worried. It was the rest of the group that he hoped could keep silent and make their escape easier.

If anyone looked at him they'd see he didn't look in as bad of mood anymore, his eyes, reflected by the light of the fire creatures, looked sad and had a very grim and tense air about himself.
