I could not write anything else since I had to go to classes ^_^

    [Watch this post for updates]
You should write Cherry with katakana instead of hiragana
    チェリー

Wait a minute. I thought about my earlier question.

You said yurusaretai is exactly what I'm looking for. But, from my knowledge of Japanese (better call it ignorance, I still barely know anything :p), and my knowledge of languages in general, I'm beginning to think it's not quite right, either.

    Here's my reasoning.

Yurusaretai means "I want to be forgiven." Thus, it's a statement. Not a request. While "I want to be forgiven" is all well and good, what I want to know how to say is "Please forgive me" (I added the please to show more that it's a request)

Also, I didn't write that. I honestly haven't got the faintest clue who did, or what it translates to, but I already knew that Cherry should be written with katakana. :)

I almost forget about this thread.

As for the suffix question, anything between Jedimdo or Jedimdo-kun is fine ;)

Ah, I thought that you wanted to say what the subtitles were saying. What I meant is that the subtitles say 'exactly' what it says in japanese. So, if you want to say 'Forgive me' you can say 'Gomen nasai'. It may not look really polite (it's -nasai anyway) or a request, but it is the most used form. Even in conversations with certain grade of courtesy it is used.

I know you didn't. It was just a comment.

Oh. Well, I supose Gomen Nasai will work, then. I dunno, I figured 'forgive me' would be a different phrase, though. Oh well.

Shinryu - You know, I can say please, thank you, and many other things in Spanish, but, for the life of me, I can't remember how to say "I'm sorry." Better be careful not to insult anyone... :p

Ano, would you guys mind translating your posts into English? For those of us who are totally illiterate in Japanese?

(Besides, how do we know you're not typing curse words in there? :p)

    you don't ^_-

Well, just to get you up to date, well i wont translate what Geishaboy said word for word, but basicly what i answered to was that GB said Japanese language is difficult but he likes it a lot.

Then I said (disclaimer: this is what im trying to say, but i could be saying it wrong some times):
    今日は芸者ボーイさん
    Hello (konnichiwa) Geishaboy-san
    六右衛門「ろくえもん」です。
I'm Rokuemon (Kanji + spelled out)
    おれも日本語を学んでいます。あまり日本語で話すじゃない。
I am learning Japanese too. i don't speak much japanese.
    おれは六月に日本へ行く。芸者ボーイさんは日本へ行きましたか。
i am going to Japan in June. Have you been to Japan?

    じゃな
Ja na ("well then" - its what you say for "bye". usualy "ja ne" but ja na is more masculine way)

    頑張って!
gambatte! (keep it up! work hard!)

    六右衛門
    Rokuemon (in Kanji)

Next post Geishaboy said his Japanese is not very good, he studies every day in the library, but its hard. He is from NZ, where am I from?

I wont translate my last post until GB has answered, because that spoils the point of it. Maybe the person answering could translate the post they are answering? The problem with making your post in Japanese and English at the same time is it spoils the educational value and fun for anyone trying to test their japanese.

This topic is named 'Let's try to speak in Japanese!'. For learning purposes there are other topics in the Japanese forum.

Anyway, I'll talk to you with romaji...

Nihongo wo benkyou suru, Shinryu-kun :D
Kore ha tanoshii ja nai ka?

    Study Japanese, Shinryu-kun
    Isn't it amusing?

True. That's a good idea. But when you both speak in Japanese with no tranlation, or even romanization, it can get prety hard to understand. I could read maybe 3 characters in all of those messages. :dizzy2:

Romanji is a bit easier, because I can read it, and what I don't understand, I can look up in my new Japanese dictionary. I was able to understand most of what you said before looking at the translation.

    Nihongo wa muzukashii...

I dont mind doing kana and romaji versions of what i'm trying tosay, i dont think that wold be a spoiler. plus translate the post I'm answering - sound like a good idea? maybe see what Geishaboy thinks when he comes back on.

or using the hiding code Jedimdo is using. see how it goes.

hontou ni sou desu ne. demo, eigo ga motto muzukashii desu yo!

Eigo wa yasashii! Muzukashii ja nai!

Anyway, I think it'll work. With romanji, at least, those users that don't have Japanese language support can read it, right? Anyway, I'd suggest doing the same as before, with romanji afterward, and translating the previous person's post. Should make things easier for us, I think. :)
