As the small group reached the edge of the Elves forest kingdom, Strikor looked over to Mikomi one last time. Her head was still hung low and she didn't make eye contact with anyone in the group.

Prince Roldan: Where are your people?? It grows darker as we sit here, we must enter your protected woods.

Strikor: Mikomi, have they answered your calling?? Do they even know we are here?

Mikomi: I don't know.........

 

A chill fell upon the group as she answered Strikor. The horses started to stir under their riders as the forest behind them seemed to come to life in the darkness.
Strikor quickly ordered the remaining knights to circle the prince. Mikomi and Strikor took the point and drew their weapons.
The forest grew darker before their eyes. It was very apparent that the creatures had waited as long as they wanted too. It was also apparent that this time, there were many more than just one or two coming for the prince.

Strikor looked at Mikomi for some sigh of an answer from the Elves. Her response back was still as disappointing as when he asked earlier.

Strikor: Men!!!, get the prince into the Elves terroritory. let nothing come between you and the prince. Mikomi, please tell me you can sense your people.......

Mikomi: They are not answering us, whether by choice or other reasons, they are not answering. I know they have to have received my call.

Prince Roldan: Can we enter your land without them being here?

Mikomi: Yes, I can guide you through the forest.

Soldier: What about the creatures??? Will they follow us into the forest?

Mikomi: They haven't the power to combat our forest---we will be safer there than staying our ground onthis hill.

Strikor ordered three of his knights to accompany Mikomi and too get the prince into the forest. The remaining four knights stayed at his side and attempted to buy some time for the others.

As Mikomi watched her love go into battle against the creatures, she pointed her steed towards her home and became to charge into the forest with the prince and the remaining knights.

The creatures finally showed themselves. Everyones worst fears finally came through the dark forest. Strikor could see at least twenty of the creatures exiting the darkside of the forest, and could hear even more behind those.
The lead creatures approached Strikor and his brave men. It seemed all would be lost in one slash. Just as the creatures were about to strike, a loud noise came from the elves forest. Strikor turned just in time to see a series of glowing arrows come flying from the tree-tops. They struck the dark creatures as if they were guided missles of a time that hasn't come yet. One at a time, the creature shreeked back in agony. The lead creature took four of the glowing arrows before it finally collapsed before Strikor and his men. The remaining creatures began to retreat. It had been the first time since this horror started that any of the creatures showed some signs of fear. They had all fled back into the darkness from which their attack had come.

Soldier: They have fled. The creatures have fled.

Soldier2: They can not battle the Elves---Their power isn't strong enough.

Strikor: They die just as we do, this finally gives us a chance to defeat this menace. Quickly, regroup and lets get out of this clearing.

Strikor's men turned and headed towards the Elf Kingdom. There, they joined the remainder of his men and their prince. Mikomi was also waiting deep in the forest for them as well. She stood there with the King of the Elves---her father..........

 

Mikomi paced in front of her father, worried sick that something awful had happened. She could smell fear in the air, whether it was her fear, Strikors fear, or the creatures fear she could not tell. The only thing to do was wait impatiently for them. Her father had told her they were fine, but Mikomi would only be convinced when she saw them.
Her panic was short lived however, as the captain topped the hill giving her a weak smile. Relief washed over her when she verified that he was not hurt. Running up to him she wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace, "I thought I had surely lost you." Pulling back she cupped his face in her hands. "Come, there is someone I would like you to meet." Grabbing his hand she dragged him over to the imposing figure of a blue eyed, white haired elf. "Strikor I would like to introduce you to the king of the elven territories Y' fandes, my father. Father this is Strikor, the captain of the kings guard, and a very dear friend."

 

Strikor: It is a pleasure to finally meet sir. I have heard much about you from your daughter.

Y'Fandes: I too have heard much of the human who has stolen my little girls heart. You have earned a valuable place amongst my people.

Mikomi: There is time for smal talk later, the prince should be taken to our home and allowed to rest along with the others.

Y'Fandes: Agreed. Prince Roldan, my home is your home now, please follow my guards and they will show you to you rooms.

The prince wasn't sure what was going on at the moment. The group had been through a lot in the last few weeks.
Strikor welcomed this time to cool down and get a moment alone with Mikomi.

 

The Elf Kingdom was a place of pure beauty. In all to destruction the group had seen over the past weeks, nothing could have been more pleasant to them.
The palace was in the center of the township. The citizens of the area welcomed all the newcomers as they pasted them on their way towards the center of town.
The prince rode alongside King Y'Fandes, and talk to each other most of the way.
The seven Knights left of Strikors forces still looked on guard as if they could not believe this place could be real. It seemed as though they were ready for all of it to be ripped away from them at any moment.
Strikor rode in the back with Mikomi at his side. They didn't speak much to each other the entire way into the city. Mikomi could sense the stress that was placed upon Strikor and his men and didn't know at the time what she could do to help them.

The crowd cheered as they could see Mikomi had returned home unharmed by the darkness that had attacked all the surrounding cities. She was their Princess, and none of them enjoyed when she would leave to go venture off into the humans domain.

As they enter the walls of the palace, the king pointed out to Prince Roldan that his army was ready to defend all who needed them as well as join with Strikor and his men to find King Kahn.

This news stunned the young prince. Was it possible that his father still lived somewhere amongst all the death they left behind them. All these answers would be presented after the group was granted the time to rest and have a good meal. There would be plenty of time to address all the prince's question when this had been done.

Y'Fandes: Please get some rest now my friends. Tonight, you will dine at my table and I will answer all the questions that you feel need asking.

Roldan: Thank you for all you have done for me and my men. I promise you this will all be remembered when this HELL is over. My kingdom will pay respects to you for what you have done this day and the days to come.

Y'Fandes: Ah young one, you have nothing to do but rest now. The worries of your kingdom will be attented to whenthe time is right. As for you owing us anything----Our debt does not exists. Please now, get some rest--we will talk in a few hours.

 

The dinner was a welcomed treat for everyone that evening. The elves layed out a spread befitting the Prince and his companions.
Through out the meal, the young prince seemed distant to the conversations around him. His focus seemed locked on Y'Fandes. Any news of his father would be encouraging for his people now, and that was all he wanted to know about right now. He waited til the meal was truly finished before starting up talk of what the King had hinted towards hours earlier.

Prince Roldan: Your Grace, what news do you have of my fathers welfare? Does he live still, or am I all that survives our name?

Y'Fandes: Ah Roldan, you seem to occupied by what is outside this forest. When the time is right, all your questions will be answered.

 

This response only seemed to iratate the young prince. Strikor had noticed this almost instantly. Mikomi had also sense the level of tension between her father and the prince.

Roldan: King Y'Fandes, if you have information about my family, I wish to know of it now. After what I have been through over the last few weeks, I have neither the time nor patience to wait any longer!!!!!

Strikor: Sire please, the elves are our hosts. We have all been through hell and back, and it is far from over, we must try to relax.

Y'Fandes: It is OK Strikor, let the boy vent. It will built his strength for the tasks ahead. Roldan, your father does live. At this very moment, he is treking across the far desert to get back to his kingdom. It was for his own protection.

Roldan: What are you saying??? How can this have occurred??

Y'Fandes: A long time ago, our people made a deal with your father to assists in the safety of the throne. The plan was to wisk away the royal family in the event of an attack that your armies couldnt defend against. We left one of our wizards with your father in the disguise of a human. His role was your parents personal guards at the throne. In the event of such attack, he would send the royal family to a safe place in the Desert of Stars. There, Farmer Yan would take the royal family into his home til we have contacted him to let you know it was safe.

Strikor: But the King's personal guard was killed in the attack. I personally seen the body---what happened to the King??

Y'Fandes: He carried out his orders. Your father was sent to Yan's farm for safe keeping. He was not able to get to you and your mother at the time, the creatures stormed into the throne-room to quickly.

Roldan: How do we stop these monsters???

Y'Fandes: My army is at your command. They will fight side-by-side with your forces.

Strikor: Our forces are only eight strong; Myself, Leoric, Aarzon, Methos, Riker, Jordon, Lance, and McCloud.

Y'Fandes: Strikor, your men will be in charge of my armies. Each of you will get a small army to take into battle. My soldiers can drive the creatures from your land with your leadership.

Strikor: How many creatures are we talking about??

Y'Fandes: Their race numbers over 200,000 strong at last count. That number could be larger due to their daring frontal assault they have started. My scouts will return soon with more accurate numbers.

As they discussed what would take place in the days to come, a large ruckus from the outer chamber sounded off. Voices could be heard yelling all sorts of commands and women and children were screaming.
The dining-room doors flung open as four of the kings warriors dragged one of the creatures into the room.
Prince Roldan and his people sprang to their feet as the sight of the creature drew fear into their blood.

Elf Warrior: Sire, this one still lived after the attack in the field. We figured you would want to interigate him personally.

Y'Fandes: Bring him to the throne room.........

 

Mikomi snarled as the creature passed where she stood. Feeling her hair stand on end, she turned to the elven scout narrowing her eyes.

Mikomi: "Where did you find it?"

Scout: "It was near the edge of the elven territories when we caught it. Motives are unsure yet, but I believed it to be scouting the area for an opening into the city. I have doubled the border guards and have ordered barriers up around the city." Nodding in assent Mikomi waved the scout away. "Take it to the throne room we will join you momentarily."

 

Y'Fandes: "Mikomi, I do not believe our friends should witness this process."

Roldan: "With all do respect, Sire, I believe I need to be in this meeting. I t is my kingdom that has been destroyed by these creatures, I have some questions that need answering."

Mikomi: "I agree with Prince Roldan, father. I also think I should be the one who performs the process. My powers are stronger now than ever before."

Y'Fandes: "Very well, my dare. Guards, bring it inside and set it before the throne."

The Elf guards dragged the creature into the throne room and chained it to the floor in front of the throne. King Y'Fandes and Prince Roldan entered the room behind them, followed by Strikor and Mikomi and the remaining knights.

The creature pulled and twisted the chains trying to break free, but to no avail. Something about this kingdom rendered these creatures helpless. Already badly beaten, the creature submitted to it captors........

 

With a simple touch from Mikomi, the creature seemed to drop to its knees. From everyone view, it seemed the creature was stunned and put in a trance.

Mikomi looked deep into the creatures eyes. The creature was ready to submit to Mikomi's process.....

 

The creature seemed to be in some sort of trance. As Mikomi moved closer to it, it seemed to grow weaker at her touch. At this point, the creature was now slumped down on its knees and completely zoned in on Mikomi's voice.

Mikomi: "Why have your kind attacked the kingdom? What is the motives behind such a frontal assault on these good people?"

Creature: It is our goal to eliminate all freshlings we encounter. Our race can not be stopped. There is nothing you can do to aid these freshlings. While you waste time with me, my armies of darkness are finding a way to consume your kingdom as well. Your armies will only delay the final outcome---your own destruction. You look surprised, the Elf is not an indestructable being. It may take us some time, but we will adapt and we will destroy your people as well."

Roldan: "Ask him how many there are."

Mikomi stared into the creatures mind again, this time projecting the question directly into it.

Mikomi: 'How large is your forces?? How do you know my people won't defeat you??'

Creature: "Ha ha ha ha, you really think your mind tricks can get such important information. Do you really think your power is that strong. You have not seen power yet, none of you. Your chains may hold my body, but can you defend what you can not see."

Just as the creature said this, Mikomi was thrown backwards from it. She slumped over and grabbed her head. She seemed to be in agony. Striker drew his sword and with the handle of it, struck the creature in the back of the head which stunned it and caused it to drop to the floor. Mikomi regained her composure and two of the Elf guards helped her to her feet.

 

A lone female figure dressed in white watched over them, if they truly needed their help she would come and help them fight the creatures and the darkness.

 

Brushing away the guards hands she regained her composure lifting the creatures head to look into her own eyes. "I suggest you dont try that again. Next time it will be more then a minor headache you recieve." Hissing between her teeth she brought her fingers up to her temples massaging them in a futile attempt to ease the throbbing pain. 'Kuli kone moreen, that hurts.' Lifting her eyes to look at each of the figures in the room she gave them each a cold stare. "Leave us." At their look of startlement she raised her voice. "Perhaps you misheard me....OUT!"

 

She noticed that the elven girl had pain emitting from her forehead, perhaps she should heal it, the girl would probably think it went away. So without hesitation she did so, staying hidden.

 

Strikor: "Mikomi, this is not the way you want to handle this."

She just stared at him the same way she had looked at everyone else in the room.

Strikor: "I won't leave you in this condition. You are better than these creatures. You need to rest, we can continue later."

 

The figure, seeing that her prescense was not really needed left after sending a telepathic message to Mikomi.<Mikomi, if you ever need any assistance call for Galandria. I am kin of sort. I'm from the Elven people of the moon and I'll help you when called upon.>

 

Blinking in confusion she turned towards the window looking for the person who had sent the message. 'I will remember your people, should need arise, I shall call. ' Turning in frustration towards Strikor she sighed at the look of concern he wore. "I know you are worried, but this isnt something I can just set aside. My people and the fate of the world may rest on the information conatained within this creatures mind, and even if it means I die trying, I will fight to preserve my people as well as yours."

 

Galandria smiled and ran off.

 

As Galaidria was running she was stopped by a calming force. She sat on a near by rock as a voice appeared inside her head:<Galadria, do not be startled. MY name is Karmi, Prince of light order of god. I wish to help fight agisnt these dark creatures of eternal blackness. All you must do is tell Mikomi that the Elvs are not the only civilization left to aid the world in to come over victory. The is one other. It is my civilization that is still alive. Without our help, the worl may lose this war. You must tell Mikomi to go to the sacred temple behind the waterfall of Elimarina. she must bring along my cousin Prince Roland and Strikor and you. She must not bring any other, even to protect her. We shall gaurd her. The strenghth of our people espically turns the table agisnst dark forces. But since their is not many of us that have royal blood it will be hard to fight. The faith of the world is on you're sholders tonight Galadria. Do not fail us all..........> Slowly, the voice faded, and Galadria starting running back, towards the Elvin Palace.

 

Galandria approached the palace and said, "I must speak with Mikomi, tell her Princess Galandria needs to speak with her. I have an urgent message.

The guards sent a messenger and she was shortly brought to Mikomi and she said, " Mikomi that the Elvs are not the only civilization left to aid the world in to come over victory. There is one other. That is the Prince Karmi of Light and order of God's civilization that is still alive. Without their help, the world may lose this war. Mikomi you must go to the sacred temple behind the waterfall of Elimarina. You must bring along Prince Roland and Strikor and myself. You must not bring any other, even to protect yourself. We shall gaurd you. The strenghth of Prince Karmi's people espically turns the table agisnst dark forces. But since their is not many of us that have royal blood it will be hard to fight. So what do you say Mikomi?"
