The Iraqis are arming themselves with gas proof clothing and anti chemical drugs as we speak. So war seems imminent.

A problem is Gay Boy George W. Bush trying to start a ****ing war, and also trying to finish his father's ****ing legacy and start a Gulf War II which could end up as World War III since he tried restarting a ****ing war with North Korea, but thank god South Korea is talking to them now... Don't know if it will do anything though.

Ladies and gentlemen, one of the things that I have been reading in the news a lot lately is a war in Iraq. Ladies and gentlemen this is an attack from the US out of greed. Now I know some of you are American so this should be your first time hearing this. Bush is attacking Iraq for their unique supply of Oil. Now I do know that some of you are in the Middle East as I speak. Sadly this one is for you.

What I want, and I truly want this of you because if you as human beings really cared about your world and how it is run, you are asked to sign on this thread whether or not you support this war. (and if you do, prepare to defend your opinion) We as human beings can not just stand back and watch the fireworks, we must fight this war out. If push comes to shove I Musashi will go out there and stand protest in front of their weapons.

There is a peaceful solution to this problem, but the US government and their president is too hot-headed to notice. Ladies and gentlemen please step forward and join me, Ryan McClung in my battle for peace. I do thank you in advance for any help contributed.

    ~Ryan~

Re: Re: War in Iraq protest.

    It is.

It's basically saying 'we do not support this war, and we think that George W. Bush sucks.'

Well, first off, why do you think that Americans have not heard this before? The assumption that because of where we live, we have not heard opinions dissenting our government, is very naive. America is not perfect, but we are far from the ignorant rednecks that many like to think of us as.

One of the things you'll find is that a lot of Americans DO NOT agree with what our government does, and as we have a little right called 'freedom', our press is not complete propaganda as it is in non free nations. Yes, not everything makes it to press, but our government does not regulate what the media can make known (besides pornography and libel laws). Speculation about the motives behind the push for war comes up fairly frequently if you follow the news.

Personally, I do not believe that the war on Iraq is about oil at all, but rather it is about George W. Bush's desire to finish what his father had started, and is every bit as misguided as it would be were it over oil. If you don't believe me, that's fine, and we'll see who is right when Iraq is defeated and the oil fields are either under US control (your belief) or given back to the Iraqis after Saddam is removed (my belief). Honestly, I do not support a war upon Iraq unless they attack another nation again (as they did Kuwait).

If you think standing in front of a weapon will do you any good, and if you think that is your moral obligation, do so. But don't try to tell us how ignorant we are, that takes a lot away from a good cause.

Did you read the entire thread? It started as political commentary about the war on Iraq in the form of a song.

Here's the plain facts of whats going on and why the administration is going through with this threat of war with Iraq. First off, it really isn't finishing Bush Sr.'s legacy as much as it is trying to put a true end to the Gulf War. The decision to halt military actions in Desert Storm after a mere 100 hours is being viewed by analysists as a bad mistake. That also permitted the most powerful division of Iraq's republican gaurd, the Hamarati, to escape with 70% of their equipment. This force has been repetivly used to threaten Kuwait and Saudi Arabia since the end of coalition operations in Iraq.

Comon people, its not like this is just something that Bush flaired up all of a sudden. This has been going on for 11 years (quite a bit of time), trade embargoes don't work, UN pressure doesn't work, rebels are quickly stomped out and anything else non military related hasn't made a bit of difference in Iraq. It's only Clinton's dullness in dealing with these events that have caused them to grow into something that you can't just turn your ack on. He passed these problems onto Bush so he can take the fall instead.

One other even more important aspect to consider. Nations like North Korea who openly begin trying to produce nuclear weapons without a air of secrecy about it is merely trying to gain ground in world community (members of the Nuclear family have quite a bit of power). Countries like Iraq who are building them but won't admit it don't want to gain international ground, they want to use them! Why would you develope something in secret if you were not going to either use them or threaten everyone around you with them. The WW3 scenerio feared throughout the "Cold War" does not seem too far off should Iraq gain access to these weapons. One of the first targets will undoubtly be Israel, who have made it clear that they will go all out on anybody who does such a thing, regardless of the cost. We have to look back at history, people argued against military actions against Hitler and Mussolini, even after they invaded Poland. I know this is quite a long time ago, but failure to learn from history only makes it repeat its self. What are we going to do if Iraq starts another mess, probably would be worse this time because he knows how the coalition works and has a better idea of our military tactics. We'll probably be thinking, should a, would a, could a, but didn't.

I'm for the War, if you dissagree, maybe you should go join the people of Carthage (remember, they were wiped out by the Romans, seems their fate was decided by brute force rather quickly). I seriously doubt that it will come to war tho, this build up in the gulf is merely a show of might in order to get Iraq to be more coopertive. The North Koean issue is nothing to fear either, they are just doing the stunt that the British pulled on the U.S. while the U.S. was busy fighting in the Mexican- American War (know your history). They'll ease up once matters in the gulf settle down. Thats my take, i'm out

Well said, Phalanx, although I do still think that there is a bit of 'Daddy look at me' syndrome in Bush's actions.

I mean, one minute, USA were after Osama, and the second minute, USA is planning for a war against Iraq oO

Ok, I think I lost myself there
