Anime Anime in your school

Hey, i wasnt sure if this would tie in with Misc or Anime forum. So i made it in Anime.

So, what kind of respect does anime get at your school?

Mine has soo many anime fans. We actually have an anime club which at once took us to an anime con in Dallas. (dont member the name)

But, anime is one of the highest most talked about topics in my school...

How bout yours?

 

Only 2 of my friends like anime, the rest do not show interest in it, save for the horrible DBZ show.

 

We have a group of anime ppl. Then there is the anime haters and the perverted guys who wants to see this so called Hentai thing

 

There's an anime club at my school called WAI!(Windsor Anime Institute). It's amazing how easy it is to find anime fans in a school of 10 000 people. I was in my psychology lab when suddenly the person next to me started rolling dice, then I noticed he was making a D&D character. So we started talking about Naruto and Onegai Twins and a tonne of other recent animes..

I should join WAI! too bad the bus only runs until 7 PM on Saturdays.. it goes from 7-10 on Saturdays

 

The only people I know from school that are anime fans are : Suzu, Alkhoon and 3 guys. Thats it

 

My school has an anime club, so we have a reasonable number of fans hanging around. Several of my good friends like anime, as well as some people upstairs in my dorm who borrow DVDs from me.

I'm sure there are probably TONS more, but if I don't run into them during the year, I likely will at the school anime fest in the summer.

 

anime has like no followers in this school, except a few. No club no nothing.

 

In my School, the only thing I ever hear is, "Oh, there Heather goes drawing her Sailor Moon crap agian." I get so mad because they think just because I draw pictures of chicks and guys with big eyes it Sailor Moon! I'm to admit, I do like the show, but I dont watch it any more. And that's all I ever hear about anime. Is that the only thing there is is the Magical Girl junk. They dont get that there are Anime's that they arn't even allowed to watch.

We have an anime club at my school.

It is slowly growing, slowly taking over the school.
I'm also president of the club (I have the most knowledge of anime, apparently).

The club was founded by a bunch of my friends and I last year, and last year a guy who has since graduated was president and bestowed the title to me. Sweet.
The club kinda works like a corporation. We have regular members (junior members), C.E.O's (We have 3 C.E.O's) and a vice president (that was me last year) and a president (me.)

We have taken over two tables in the cafeteria in a dark corner, and we have posted up a sign that says that the table belongs to the anime club. (School has since taken it down, to my dismay.)
We meet during lunch and talk about whatever. Wheeeee.

 

I think I go to the only university in Ontario that doesn't have an anime club. There's what I have dubbed the "Total Losers Club" (a title based on my personal interactions with them, and a short-lived membership), and a few of them like anime and all that, but then they start whining about how they like Star Trek better than any anime sci-fi or how they think Buffy's better than Vampire Hunter D, and it makes me want to kill something.
The people I know in school all think I'm a porn freak because I like anime. The ironic part: HALF OF THEM LIKED AKIRA AND GHOST IN THE SHELL!!! RRRrrrrrrr ... bastards ...

 

one of my mates who recently joined this site introduced me to anime/manga 2 or 3 years ago now after he moved away though i was really the only one in my school who liked it.

save my mate Paddy but dont get me started on him he carnt sit still for more than a min so never actually watches anything honestly he is like a little kid and we are nearly 18.

 

Some people love anime in my school (me, Fuuma, |oro|, |oro|'s friend, another one of |oro|'s friends.) Many people hate it (Justin, Sam, sooo many others) Some like it from TV (Ricky, Stephine.) That's just my grade. I know some of the 7th graders like anime/manga. I've seen them with .hack//DUSK, Shonen Jump, others.

 

I have an anime club, and it's fun, cause we have like 15 people in it. Albeit the fact that I don't like a few of them....

 

nope no anime club......but there are like 5 or 6 people besides me that like it...maybe I should start a club with just us and add more!? heh ^__^

My school has a club with a total of 34 members. The problem though is that half of them only want to watch DBZ, Sailor Moon, Digimon and Shaman King.....stupid noobs..... Last year there were only 6 of us and we were all otaku.

 

That is true also in my school. But the truth is that those were the first anime that I watched and now I've evolved to things like Nadesico, Eva, Gundam, Noir, Rahxephon

 

Evolved haha that’s a good one, to noir ahhahaha…… just joking don’t kill me I know what you mean but come on DBZ wasn’t that bad I bet most people have watched it in their life time I have to admit I thought the android sagas was really good. But Digimon ….. There’s just no excuse.

a bunch of my friends like anime and stuff. we have an anime club with some amount of people which im too lazy to count. somewhere from 20-40 or something. no one that i know really hates anime exept my bro. we watched a bunch of stuff... yesterday was Akira... we saw the bebop movie... and some stuff which i cant really remember.

edit: last year they went to anime boston, i couldnt go... meh.
