    That's because people are overly helpful and give everyone mass karma until they have enough and then do nothing until they decide to start boosting you to insane levels. :p

    You did. :p

    I think you gotta get a lot of respect and then be on here a long time to be really noticed. When you're a n00b who sticks around and posts regularly, you start getting good karma becuase people are like, "Hey, a n00b that just doesn't sign up and then go away!". Then they become a Power user and then people don't notice them as much. "Oh hey, it's that one n00b. He's a Power User now. Cool."

    But then you hit the point where people think you deserve more than just 200 something or 300 something karma. Then your flow picks up again.

    n00b --> Power User --> Mod --> SMod --> Admin --> Ruler of t3h World

    The chain knows all... ;)

    For the record , i am suprised when a noob actually sticks around but i'd never give them karma for it. why hit my 24 hour karma limit on them when i could give it to someone who really deserves it.

    you were missing a group.

    Well, I think almost 70% of the members of this board are inactive, and I think 30% really do contribute and are online on a daily basis. Newbies who stick around on here are rare, becuase most just sign up and then don't post at all.

    Was it Registered User?

    true but this disscusion has been brought up plenty of times. people who joined two years ago and only have one post should be deleted, they aren't coming back and those names should be freed up.

    i already added it for you.

    Well, in that kind of case, you never know. People can come back ANYTIME. You never know. Plus they did beat us to the name (those whose names we want to take), so they deserve to have it I guess.

    This what I'm telling you. People gonna be scared to mispell...oh god....did I do it?:D

    What I'm guessing for those grammar errors is something like
    "ay! wut up ev3ry1!!!!so is laik dis an dat, lol,rait?????"
    Translation:"Hey! What's up everyone! So it's like this and that, heh/lol, right?"

    Something like that in a Forum can you bad karma. I don't think people should be worrying about a few grammar issues. We all ain't prefect.

    Karma is on you User CP page, where it says "Latest Reputation Received." People will give you karma points if they liked or agreed with your posts and the opposite of that is true. Green for good, red for bad, and gray for neutral. Whenever you post people will be able to see your karma amount in those little green blocks on the bottom left hand corner.

    I usually don't give out karma, it's not that I don't want to but I never find a good enough reason for it and I don't remember. I've only given it about 3 times, which is pretty bad considering how long I've been here. But I myself have gotten a lot.

    Am I going crazy, or are all the blocks in light or black gray?

    All the blocks as in everyone's or just your's?
    If it's just yours that means that you've gotten neutral karma, when people aren't at a high enough status to give you karma yet. I'm not sure if this is all right so someone please correct me if I am wrong.

    Everyone's, and my moniter is in color, too. I can guess that lighter gray would be green, but this is just plain annoying.

    your right if the color blocks are blueish gray, it means the person giving it to you hasn't been here long enough for their opinion to count :)

    Green... yay you win Karma!

    red... no not christmas!

    At which point they'd be welcome to reregister, no? Nobody whined about the first pruning they did, save for one insignificant newbie who thought he knew everything *cough* <.<;;

    Perhaps another pruning is in order. Certainly BJP does carry a fair bit of dead weight around these days. People need to learn to actually post when they register. :p

    Amen! :D But, I was too new, they didn't know what they'd be getting themselves into by letting me stay. :p

    And I don't think Seishin was registered then...

    He also forgot HMod, which funny enough he is. I've seen at least 4 or 5 noobs who signed up then never came back or posted again in the last couple of months. Maybe they're intimidated, heh.

    I'd like to Thank Hitohiro for giving me that karma that allowed me to get my forth block.

    there is way more than four or five. about six people join up each day but never post.
