I said that I noticed 4 or 5, didn't say there was. though I have to say I haven't seen any new ones in a couple days. That blows that theory.
There's nothing scary about BJP and its members. Except maybe Ragnarok's obsession with the place. OH! The Ragnarok jokes are born again! The thing is why would people register and not post? It doesn't make any sense at all. The point of actually wanting to join would be to post here, right? It's just stupid.
because they're all like "wow look at this place it's cool i'll join." they look around and then are like " i'll come back and post when i have more time..." and then they forget the link... or just never intended on posting in the first place. and btw there are members here that are very intimidating at times.... Actually it's been going a bit lately. I've been growing more apathetic about BJP. Anyway yeah, I don't know what goes on with those people who register and vanish what's the point?
Well, it happens to a lot of forums, not only BJP. People join a forum thinking its amazing since it has everything and they usually forget it or find another forum, and they might forget about that one too. Its kinda like life, you go to a store thinking it is the bomb and you are going to shop there 24/7 but than you never go there ever again.
True. But still, there's no point in becoming a part of something and never contributing. It's time for a serious pruning I say!
'Tis. At first I was trying to get my point across, then, this thread just kinda hit a speedbump. Oh well. Let's try to get back on topic, shall we? Maybe I should restate the question again? In my recent observations, I've noticed that anyone between 300-800 posts has at least 3 karma blocks. Anyone that has 1,000 or higher posts normally have between 5-7 krama blocks. Odd. It seems that the only times people (or me) recieve karma are * When someone makes a really, really good thread. * When it's my/his/her birthday. Who knows, I may get good karma for making such a weird/funny thread. I may get spammed with bad karma becuase people think I'm an idiot for staring at tiny little green blocks and actually thinking about them. It's karma on BJP!, only given out at rare ocassions. I swear I saw some spell stupid wrong on this thread. Now that is talent. I hate Karma. When I want to give it out I can't. I am way to picky when it comes to Karma. I guess I should start using my limit that would probably help a lot.
Well, I recently had 272 karma, and then someone gave me good karma (for this thread, I might add ) and then it said I had 275 karma. Whoopee, 3 more karma. Karma should definatley be worth more. That bugs me too. When I want to give someone good karma, it says I have to spread it around more. I give karma on occassion, but when I do, I actually want to give it.
no it shouldn't. karma isn't always good. your karma worth goes up either over time or it raises with your karma points. mine used to be worth 2 now it's up to like 5.
Well, I guess bad karma would come back to bite us if the karma value went up... Yeah, let's keep it the same. Interesting... So that makes me think of something else. 1-2 karma blocks = 1 or 2 points per good/bad karma awarded. 2-4 karma blocks = 2 or 4 points per good/bad karma awarded. Maybe that's how it plays out? I remember one time in the Computers forum I recieved 30 good karma points for warning everyone of a new virus. Now that was cool.
Mods have different karma scales huh... That's unfair to the rest of us! Kidding. Unless of course, it's harder for them to get karma, which I doubt.
Different people give karma for different reasons. I remember being drunk in Dubai, finally returning to the ship, getting online and hopping over here to the boards for one of the rare occassions that I was able to visit, posting up something obscure in the SMJ forum and getting good Karma for it. I'm not entirely sure how that happened, but I wont question it. Frankly the karma system seems to be working fine the way it is. I don't think it needs an overhaul or certain users gaining more weight from thier karma or anything. If that were to happen the one person or two would be able to screw with your karma alot more. You have people who blow up at recieving a few points of bad karma, imagine if they recieved a lot more from the same people for the same post? It would be a real mess. Karma is weighted based upon, posts, seniority and status here on the boards and seems to be working just fine. I just wish there was a way to view your past karma that you've recieved, older karma that isn't in your karma block thing anymore in the use CP. ~W
