    If they make a good job of it, it'll kick ***.
    If they don't, well it's not going to ruin the show.

    I think that if it is done right then it will be pretty good, especially if Weta is helping out. And I admit, at first I though that the job they would have done with Lord of the Rings would have sucked, but it was great! It will be interesting to see how this tunrs out and hopefully it won't be as bad as the live action Street Fighter movie... XE Besides, Gainax and ADV are working on this themselves and that is better than Fox taking it.

    Can't wait to see how the Eva's will look in this! ^_^

    well the Eva's will probably be CG in a real world environment, it takes a lot of work to get that right and if they don't it looks goofy

    The compression of an entire series into a 2 hour movie; the fact that a lot of it is (due to the nature of Eva) going to have to be done in CG and bluescreen; the fact that live action "anime" is rarely decent, let alone good.

    lol, this would be horrible, I can almost guarantee it. There is so much that can be done in animation that doesn't blend well in live action format - take the many Video Game translation out there. Granted, they aren't animated, but they're a step off - an interpretation of a different media format. And almost every single one is a clunker.

    This doesn't seem like a confirmed case, though, so don't get all worked up over it yet. We'll likely see Dragonball Z attempted and failed first.

    What are they gonna do about plug suits? They'd have to practically sew them onto teh actors. Unless they used giant ballons... in which case, they need really really skinny actors... cuz they'd have to wear anotehr layer underneath it... has anyone actually seen the actors/evas? I've seen so many terrible cosplays... eep!:dizzy2:

    The plug suits... well im sure it'll just leave the cast looking like dominatrix's... so i dont think the film will be bad in that area :D

    I agree w/ the majority here, it's going to pretty craptactular, hopefully they'll scrub it due to a too big buget or something.

    Concept art for the movie. Despite my earlier protests, I admit it's not looking half-bad.

    Also, according to JapMax and their "reliable source", ADV films commented at a convention on the movie budget estimate - a supposed $100 Million US.

    I'm surprised most people here do not like the idea. I'm looking foward to it, personally. I admit, they are going to have a hard time with some props, but I'd like to see what they can do.

    NEWS:

    Many people have been fearing this film, however there is good news. It is going to be American made, (ADV)(no wigs). Other news, it is not going to be a movie compressing a series into 2 hours, its going to have a different storyline. And the 2d photos in Newtype looked excellent.
