Oh god, WB or FOX? That would be HORRIBLE. o_0 They'd ruin EVERYTHING.

And I do hope they don't cast the Harry Pothead kid and Mel Gibson and crap. If no one can do Asuka, I'm 14, and I can do a damn good Asuka! XD Yay! I'm gonna go audition!

....And lose. ;_; Ah well. But I might actually get a chance, because America ADV is right here in my hometown!

And also, I hear that the Japanese version and the English will have two seperate casts. ^_~ Ooh, funfunfun!

LA DEE DEE DAAAAAAAAAA ADV IS A DISTRIBUTOR NOT AN ANIMATION STUDIO.

The only work they do "on" anime is provide english voice acting and translate for subs.

Ok this is one way of letting the older people who don't know the greatness of anime and then some people who like anime but don't want to invest into seriesthey will then know what eva is like and then they might buy the anime.

Should there be a live action movie?

The eva anime was one of the best programmes ever. Do you think that a live action version of the programme will do any justice to the anime? :anger2: So the question is would the live action movie be worth seeing for all the millions of Eva fans around the world?

This thread has already been done. Look back a bit through some of the older Eva threads and you should find it.

There is supposedely a live action movie in the works. As far as it being worth it...well, that's dependent on how they're making it. There hasn't been too many live action series that I've been fond of...and the ones that I do like are usually comedic pieces, rather than something deep, like Evangelion.

What would intrigue me, more than the way the Eva would be portrayed, is how Shinji and the cast would be shown. I've always found live action to be interesting, and Eva is no doubt holding my interest and my patience. I just want to see it, just to see how it turns out. Regardless, it'll be *interesting* to say the least.

There's the original thread, should you be actually interested in reading it.

That is the worst idea I have ever heard. If they do that then even less people will respect it.

What that doesn't even make sense because then it would be two differnt movies. What what Matt Greenfield has said it will most likely be at least 3 long movies.

they should have a non-gender discriminatory cast, but that can speak english. I don't understand why Japan have issued out Live Action shows from animes with Japanese cast when they clearly were in love with the beauty of the caucasian for that anime. If they truly care for their characters to look like their characters, They might as well make it in english then dub it.. even though its a Japanese original show.. I see it as a waste of money to make the movie twice.

eva as an anime didn't really work for me, but i really think eva in live action would be extreemly difficult to pull off. anime is medium, not a genre. animators direct in animation rather than live action becuase somethings only work in animation. some films blur the lines, like the lord of the rings, the matrix and such. but these have mammoth budgets, which i doubt eva will get. it'll be interesting to see, i hope it doesn't turn out comically cheap. :sweat2: . *remembers early godzilla and gamera films*

personally i fear them. :anime: they seem to release the stuff manga entertainment rejects. :shy3: :anime:

I read through this anime magazine, and it gave the actors for the english cast...(these are probably spelled wrong)

    Asuka--Hilary Duff
    Fyutski--Ian Mckellen(Gandalf)
    Gendo--Hugo Weaving(Agent Smith, Elrond)
    Shinji--Harry Potter kid
    Ritsuko--Gwenyth Paltrow

Can't remeber Misato, Touji, Rei, or Kaji. But it wasn't pretty.

You've gotta be kidding me. Are you sure it wasn't the mag's article of who they thought might look good in the roles? Because there's NO WAY those people would cast those parts.
Another thing: Ermmm.... this is going to be filmed, produced, etc, in JAPAN. Japanese Actors.

Hilary Duff made me choke in surprise. Ian McKellen seemed a good fit and a pleasant surprise. Weaving too, though I was starting to wonder. Bout the time I got to "Harry Potter kid" and especially Gwyneth Paltrow I was pretty sure it was someone's wishlist. A cast like that will never happen. How much money do we think ADV has?

You're either BSing, or reading a "dream cast" article.

As far as I know, I'm not BSing. I didnt' get the best look at the article, I was too in shock, and plus I was leaving at the time I was reading it, so it may have not been real, I'll have to check again. Oh, it was called like wizard magazine or something, I'll check if they have a website later...

Ok, I think I found the site over google(wizardworld.com), but it can't be found. And I really don't feel investigating further, unless I go back to Borders and buy the magazine.
