"He's right." Setsaki walked calmly towards Leon while putting his shirt on.

When he got to Leon, he bowed to him and said, "Hello, my name is Setsaki Senzuki, descendant of the Sezuki blood-line, but I'm sure you could care less."

Setsaki looked at his arm which was bleeding, because his blood spell required him to give some of his own blood. He noticed it was near gushing, and then he held up his arm to his mouth and he sucked the blood until it stopped. Then, the wound began to heal.

Setsaki looked at Leon and smiled, "Sorry, old habit. Yes, my trials were indescribable, but again, they are child's play compared to Leon's. I have lost my family, my life, and everything close to me. That is a baby step of his trials. And I don't think that you Reina, fully understand this long lasting battle of hatred, despair, and pain that all derived from my uncle. But, I am sort of hurt by your words 'so-called-brother', I have known Reina since the day she was born, so I'll ask you to respect that."

Setsaki looked into Leon's eyes, and, he took off his sunglasses, revealing his red and black eyes, "Yes, but I do believe I have done one more thing than you my friend," Setsaki talked very coldly and stared straight at him, and as he did, his black eye completely whited out, eating away the pupil, leaving nothing but white, "I have sacrificed myself, soul and body, to Darius for the sake of Reina and Athena; should anything happen to them, I am destined to take that pain and anguish."

Setsaki continued to stare into Leon as if searching for something, "And it seems that you do love my sister, but, only fate and time will tell, because there will come a time when you will have to choose."

Setsaki looked at Felicia and then Reina, he knelt next to Reina and said, "And should you get in trouble, I'll always be there for you. So, whatever you do, never cry again, like you did 5 years ago, I never want to see you cry like that again."

Then Setsaki looked at Felicia, his eyes still completely white and blood red, "He is a fine man, truly he is, we shouldn't fear him, I can sense no blood on his lips."

Leon took heed of Setsaki's words, but he still didn't especially like this relation of Darius. How could he be related to both Darius and Athena and Reina? "There is blood on my lips. It is your sister's blood. It will stain my lips forever."

He stared back at Setsaki. "I have to take Reina. It's for her protection. To save her from her enemies, I have to bring her to them...Setsaki, I think you understand why. You must let me bring her. Alone."

He turned around and faced a wall, staring stoically at it, awaiting Setsaki's response.

 

Setsaki frowned, "Yes, no doubt, but it is blood not meant for one such as yourself."

Then, he looked into Reina's eyes, "I am not at all very keen on the idea of not being with my sister in her time of need. Never the less, I understand why, but I also understand that there is the stench of a backstabber somewhere. So, would you let someone you hardly knew take your little sister to her enemies, alone? And on top of that, fully being aware of what will happen, I think don't you think it will turn out 'okay'. I will allow you to take her, on one condition."

Setsaki went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. He took it and slit his wrist, but being half vampire, he only bled but didn't die. And he got a test tube from the kitchen as well, and let the blood drip into the tube. "Leon Aldoux, drink my blood. After doing so, you will become a sacrifice for Athena, taking all the damages that will otherwise befall to her. That is the only way I will let you take Reina."

Leon frowned and narrowed his eyes. "You are not my keeper. You have no power over me or Reina, even in your own home. I know the blood rites, Setsaki, and I see no reason why what you are saying is even possible. Setsaki, do you have an idea who I am? Who I was? I doubt very much that you do. All you know is history to you, but it is my past. Do not pretend to be a world-weary traveler, for if you are truly the brother of Reina and Athena, you are barely 20 years born into this world."

He turned to Reina. "Reina, it is your decision. It rankles me to be ordered around by this Setsaki, but if you wish me to do as he says, I will, because it is you who I am trying to save. Reina, you may not yet know it, but your destiny is a powerful thing. It may be the most powerful..."

He was just too mentally exhausted to be polite any longer, too tired to maintain his proud bearing and be above the words of this boy, and just too damn tired of being ordered around.

 

Setaki smiled at Leon, "Hehe, You do have a point, but then again, I hardly believe that you know my blood rights. And as of I think yesterday, I am about 120 years old, I lost track. But, I can understand your anger, after all, it was you."

Setsaki smiled at Leon and then at Reina, "Just remember, old friend, that I know what is to come, and I can tell you, it's you, Athena, or..."

Setsaki grabbed his hand and screamed in pain, for a large gash was slit into it, "AHHHHHHHH!!!" as the gash bled, it bled black blood, blood of the future.

"Forgive me, for I must tend to my sister's future wound. But, remember, I know." Setsaki smiled to Reina then at Leon. As he walked passed him into his kitchen, Setsaki handed Leon three things. The test tube with his blood, a picture with Setsaki and Leon in it, looking very happy, and, a knife, made of pure silver.

Setsaki pulled out of his refridgerator a packet of blood, red blood, present blood. Then he put it into a glass usually for wine and began to drink the blood. When he finished, the gash disappeared, but the scar still remained.

"True, I can't make you do anything. But I can ask it of you in your best interests. I was simply offering."

Setsaki looked at Leon as he sipped the blood, "And I am a traveler, but not of the world, oh no. I travel and dwell in time. And I wasn't even born into the world, I was derived from Hell. Cast into this world by the Sezuki's! A blood thirsty, ravenous, demonic colt!" Setsaki shatted the glass of blood against the family portriat, "With the blood of Reina and Athena I was restored, which made me their brother in my third life. Darius is my uncle of my second life. And I'm not sure you want to know about my first."

Setsaki looked at the portrait, all of the blood that spilled had been sucked up by the picture, but the shards of glass had speared the faces of his third father and mother.

"I am a weary traveler, I want nothing more but to die and kill the ones who created me. And so, I battle Darius, the direct son of the first people to derive my terrible existance."

Setsaki's face became grimace, "Do with her what you will, but, even though I am a tortured soul who wishes for nothing more but to die, Lord help me if anyone makes Reina cry."

 

Vincent smirked, "Nothing really, I just stopped cutting it. Got annoying having to cut it every night."

He then stared at the house, "Your boy has been in there for quite some time. Maybe something's wrong?"

Rian crept to where she sense Darius' had stopped. She then saw the back of Darius and another old vampire standing in front of Setsaki's house.

"Damnit...what is he doing there?!...and who is...."

A sense of fear and anger surged through her when she looked at the white haired vampire and she pushed herself against the wall she was hiding behind for support.

"What the hell!..." Rian thought, her heart racing, she then looked back at the back of the strange vampire, "Is he the cause of my behavior?"

 

Amanda looked up at the responce of "5".
<How can there be only 5? In Egypt, there was one at every corner, that’s only the hunters, humans crowded every inch of the city at night.> Amanda thought.

Amanda looked to Charliase and smirks. "I'm not that white am I?" Amanda chuckled a bit.
"Plus, you look like your in more danger then I. Unlike you, I can live off of other vampires. I also have the strength to turn down blood. Your blood doesn't even look tempting, no matter what you would do to it. I just will not take your blood, or your challenge to fight." Amanda looked to Athena and Roneri and sighed.
After a few moments of thought she walked over to Roneri and Athena.
"Athena, you're growing deathly, I can smell it. You must drink." With that, Amanda raised her arm and bit it to let the blood out. "Drink, my blood will last longer because of my human side. It should hold you until you get to the humans. You must, I dont need you to waste away, I was sent here for a reason, though unsure of it, I know it must be important." Amanda looked into Athena's eyes, waiting for her to take some.

 

*Athena*
Athena looked at Amanda then said, "I...."

Suddenly a wave of indecision and confusion washed over her and she had a feeling Reina needed help with something. She broke free of Roneri's grasp and she ran towards Setsaki's and shouted back to them.
"Reina needs me... I'll be back, Roneri, Amanda, Raziel."
Athena then ran and entered knocked on the side door of Setsaki's house.

*Reina*
"I..." Reina began, then she heard the knocking and said, "I'll get that Setsaski."
Reina made her way over to it and opened the door to find Athena. She pulled her sister in and shut the door and led her back to the group. She was scared at how pale she was and before they entered the room Reina said, "Athena's here... Athena, Setsaski's our brother. He has the family picture up but you're not in it."
Reina looked at Leon and said, "Leon...Athena.... where do we go from here?"

 

Setsaki looked a little dazed then smiled, "Well, you all go on now, I musn't keep you waiting. Do what you have to do."

Setsaki smiled and asked of only one more thing of Leon, "Before I let you to your leave, can I ask that you take my sword with you? It would mean a lot to me."

After posing the question, Setsaki unlatched his sword from his belt and held it towards Leon, still sheathed.

Leon accepted the sword solemnly. "I'll carry it with me. It will be wielded to defend Reina and Athena."

He strapped the sword to his back, and then turned to go, gazing back at Reina and Athena. "Ready...?"

 

Setsaki glanced at his coat and shook his head, then looked back at Leon, "Thank you."

He then whispered to only Leon, "If ever you need use of a powerful spell, concealed in this sword is just that, all you need to do is say the words Seignia, Fulmis, Anema. Just in case."

Setsaki bowed to Leon and smiled, then he looked back and hugged both Reina and Athena, "Would you mind if I walked with you a portion of the way? I would like to see my sisters off safely to their journey's beginning."

 

Some distance away, a figure sat hunched among the trash and rubble. To the casual observer, he would appear as nothing more than a part of the pile of refuse if not for the book that sat at his lap. Barely breathing, the cloaked man mouthed passionate prayers to the old Catholic God, his hands clasped together. "Аминь," he spoke aloud at last, a word Russian for "Amen." That was a word that the vampires of old feared more than death itself. A word that is all but forgotten now. He knew not why he had come this far. He did not know the true name of the creatures that took the lives of his family. To him, they were nothing more or less than demons in the service of Lucifer Morningstar, the dark king of Hell.

He stood up slowly, being careful not to be seen by the demons that stalked him. He slid his gun "Wrath" out of its sheath and checked it over. Everthing seemed to be in order. The man allowed himself a short chuckle at the irony of it all. He took in his landscape for a moment, slid out of sight, and plotted his next course.

 

Felicia watched the exchange in silence. When Setsaki asked to go with them, she stepped in and said, "I would like to go as well." She added, looking at the girl and young woman, "Think of it as a safety precaution."

 

Amanda looked around and felt strange as she heard the word "amen". She looks in that direction and smirks. Amanda cried out like a crow to get the attention of all the vampires to move on. Then she whispered to all the vampires around her, "There's a hunter very close to us." Amanda started to close her eyes and listened to the wind against her hair. <Okay, where are you? I know you are very close. Let me see. WHERE IS ATHENA!!> Amanda looked around and looked in the direction of where Athena ran. Amanda reached behind her and took out one of her katanas and held it out in a fighting stance where the hunter was heard.

 

Roneri looked at Amanda as she offered her blood to Athena. She smirked and looked to the ground, folding her arms.
She's getting it easy now... she thought, Wait 'till she has to force people to give her their blood...
She looked up, as Athena ran. She was about to chase after her when Amanda spoke.
"I know..." she said, chasing after Athena.
Damn it...she'll be killed before I even make it to her....

The thought gave Roneri a bad feeling in her gut. Losing Athena now wouldn't go down well with Darius.
She ran faster, searching for Athena's scent. As she found it, she stopped running. Her feet slid against the pavement for a few sconds, and she turned around, moving to where Athena had ran.

 

Moving quickly, albeit silently, the cloaked man moved from shadow to shadow. Unbeknownst to him, he was moving in the direction of Athena and Reina, however he was still the better part of two miles away. He reached a clearing, one that offered very little cover or protection against those with prying eyes. He took a deep breath, he did not like the prospects of being seen this early of the day. However, he had no choice and broke off into a sprint. He kept low to the ground while traversing the field, and tumbled into the cover that waited for him on the other side. He sat motionless for a few seconds, making sure he was not seen. Satisfied he stood up, and returned to his course... until he accidently stepped on a small twig. Mercilessly, the twig broke with a sharp crack. He froze, undoubtedly the demons may have heard something. He broke off into a run, if they were coming, he had best prepare a suitable point of defense before they arrived. A large, burnt out building that looked like it may have been a place of worship at one time looked suitable. Even if they did not come, it would be the perfect refuge to have a rest.

 

*Athena*
"What in the world is going on... Leon, I thought you were under Darius' control and when in the world did you find out that Setsaki was our brother?" Reina remained silent not wanting to explain.

 

Charliase saw the girl run past these other demons. "Whats wrong with her?" Everyone looked somewhat annoyed at her comment. "If you want me to go follow her .."

 

Amanda looked to the sound of the twig crack. Then she listened for foot steps, as she kept the katana in a stance for battle. Amanda looked up for Raziel with her eyes and listened for the hunter with her ears. <I am in no condition to fight. I haven’t eaten in days, as well as being weak from traveling. I must find Athena.> Amanda started to walk silently backwards away from the sound of the running hunter, towards Athena's voice. <Oh great, I'm starting to feel lightheaded again. I can't hold my katana up...> Amanda unwillingly dropped the Katana as she fell to her knees and lost all feeling. Amanda felt completely trying to stay awake.

 

Raziel swiftly landed next to Amanda. "Don't worry about the hunter coming. I can phase us away before he gets near." Raziel picked up Amanda and phased to the building roof. "We definitely need to get you some blood."
